CPC vs Paulson (3 Viewers)

is there a better oil out there than mineral oil? didn’t like the results when using mineral.

has anyone tried jojoba or argan?

It's possible that I've sent CPC more money than anyone else here.

Corvette ZR1 Coupe 3ZR vs Porsche 911 Carrera 4S...pick one.
Sent to CPC proper, that's probably true. But if including ASM expenditures, @toad94 is likely to be giving you a pretty good run.

Your comparison above is also applicable to the impressive ASM/CPC collections that you two have built. Both gorgeous, and can't go wrong with either choice.

Use less oil -- a LOT less -- for better results.

I’ve only tried it with an RHC that seemed too dry after cleaning. didn’t use too much but probably could have used less. I did try and wipe off any excess.

not sure any of the mineral oil got absorbed. made the chip feel gummy.

if I ever get a set of cpc will probably try and experiment with other oils or just let it naturally oil with use.

I put a bit in a bowl, lightly dip the pad of my finger in, rub that on all sides of a half barrel (held in my other hand), wipe the half barrel down with a towel, set the barrel down and wipe the faces individually with the same towel before setting them down on a clean towel in a single layer to dry (flipping each chip after a few hours) in a room with a fan circulating the air in the room.

Easy peasy and no greasy residue at all once dried.

Not sure what happened in your specific case Jeff, but often a gummy-feeling oiled chip indicates one that wasn't truly clean before oiling. It's the oil interacting with surface contaminates that generates the gunk making them gummy.

Might want to experiment with a few chips and improve the cleaning then lightly re-oil to see what results you get.

From what I have heard, CPC is secondary to Paulson. Not sure as to why but it seems to be the general preference among those who have had both

Oiling vs not oiling in my experience..

I honestly couldn't say with certainty. From looking at the color chart online, I'd have to lean towards yellow with blue edgespots.

I really don't know for sure though. When I finished oiling my set though, they transformed into a beautiful chip. They all did.

That was back in 2015.
From what I’ve been seeing of people’s customs lately, it looks like some of the colours have changed since then. The DG colours seem to be brighter now. Hopefully when I get the JB scrown samples I can check vs my colour samples and see.

Disagree. CPC makes some amazing chips, and I sold my Paulson’s to get them.

In my experience. I've dealt poker at casino with Paulson and horse head. Hands down cpc better. The only downfall is the color selection . If it was even close to gpi I feel they would get tons of casino business.

Nice chips. Bet you wish they were Paulson ;)

I know I wish mine were, and I also sold paulsons to make two custom sets lol
Yes, but we can wish in one hand, or have custom CPCs in the other. Which hand has more in it?

I'll fill both hands with CPCs until one day maybe my wish comes true  :ROFLMAO:. Then I still might buy more CPCs. I love them.

Still doesn't change the facts.

I love CPC chips. I own close to 2000 of them. IMO (which is right lol), is that the only edge cpc holds over paulson is the customization ability. If any of the Group Buy participants step in here and say that isn't true, they can fuck right off. Because we know that not everyone has the option to purchase them.

The feel, the sound, the colors are all superior with Pauslon. I love the B mold and the Md 50 mold. I think they fell amazing. For some reason, they are still a very small notch beneath paulson chips. Its just the way it is.

Then if we throw in leaded paulsons into the discussion..............whooooooeeee!!!!
