CPC General discussion thread (10 Viewers)

Someone refresh my memory - is there an additional charge from CPC to have different inlays on the 2 sides of a chip?
No. My set didn't incur any extra charge.

Before I email Spragg. Anyone have an idea when the horse head mold is going to run

Hello everyone, please tell me what difficulties can be in obtaining custom chips from the CPC in Germany? I know that goods over 150 € are subject to a customs duty of 19% + tax. Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing? I want to make ..))) Let's say that it will be 700-1000 chips and $ 2000. Your advice is really needed.

As a rule, expect to pay customs fees on anything you order stateside and have shipped to Germany.

I’m in a similar situation here in Switzerland and paid around 10% in fees when all was said and done.

One workaround would be to have a CPC order shipped to someone in the U.S. and have that person re-ship to you and declare a lower value. Of course, that comes with its own risks in the event of loss or damage after re-shipping.

TLDR: expect to pay German import fees if ordering from CPC.

Is Switzerland only 10%? I thought more. I just wanted to understand the order of the amounts. To understand how much money should be on top of the required amount. I am here just recently. If I understand correctly, is the same story with the used chip?

MwSt is 7.7%, plus whatever handling fees the Post or DHL decide to tack onto to that. Generally-speaking it comes to +/- 10%

MwSt составляет 7,7%, плюс любые комиссии за обработку, которые почта или DHL решат прибавить к этому. В целом это +/- 10%
Здесь намного дороже .. ((((спасибо за ответ.

You pay 19% USt. in Germany (which is the tax that is applied on any goods sold within the country to consumers) and nothing else, if you correctly declare the chips for customs. There is a 0% duty on importing this kind of goods.
You need to make sure to use the HTS code 9504 30 90 (see TARIC) in case the sender didn't explicitly put the code on the customs declaration:

SECTION XX MISCELLANEOUS MANUFACTURED ARTICLES
CHAPTER 95 TOYS, GAMES AND SPORTS REQUISITES; PARTS AND ACCESSORIES THEREOF
9504 Video game consoles and machines, articles for funfair, table or parlour games, including pintables, billiards, special tables for casino games and automatic bowling alley equipment : (TN701)
9504 20 - Articles and accessories for billiards of all kinds
9504 30 - Other games, operated by coins, banknotes, bank cards, tokens or by any other means of payment, other than automatic bowling alley equipment :
9504 30 90 - - Parts

CPC should use the explicit code on the declaration right off the bat however; I had some conversation with David a few years ago when this first came up, and I did the digging for the correct HST number to be applied too.

Worth noting: For converting the value of the goods from USD to EUR, they will always take the exchange rate of the day the goods enter the EU or the day they process the customs formalities (but not the day of purchase). Hence it's only roughly predictable how much you'll have to pay in taxes, and you should definitely use a much worse exchange rate as the basis for your rough calculations in advance.

Also worth noting: the 150€ free limit has been dropped this summer.

Thank you very much. I did not know that. I have not been on the site for a long time and for the first time in Germany. After looking at the current prices of Paulson's chips, I come to the logical conclusion that it's time to order your own. Moreover, I want it for a long time.

@Nex "club hel"???

Edit: in English, as a courtesy to the rest of the forum population:

I only came to the topic of Poker a couple of years ago. I did hear about "the blue site" CT on here but I never was active there - that was before my time.

I developed Club Hel in 2017 and in the beginning of 2018 I showed the first photos here. So these have been around since a few years, and hence it's very possible that you accidentally stumbled upon them. The "counterfeit" Horseshoes came in the end of 2018, so they also have been around for a while now.

So schien es mir. Ich war auf der blauen Seite und sah ihren Aufstieg und Fall. Du hast schöne Chips. Warum hast du nicht die originalen "Hufeisen" gekauft?

I was on the blue site and saw its rise and fall. ((((
You have beautiful chips. Why didn't you buy the original "horseshoes" ?

See the reveal thread for the Horseshoes, subsection "motivation" :)
Summarizing, I wanted them exactly my way, with none of the compromises I would have been forced to make had I bought the original Paulsons.
I like your practicality.)))
And I agree that CPC chips cost their money in terms of durability.
I am not confused by used chips. Since there are 1-2 games with your new chips and there is no factory dust on them. But looking at the current prices for Paulon, I see a lot of potential in the CPC. Because for less money you can get more durable and better quality chips!
I have many sets. there is Paulson and ASM. And also a "Cleveland horseshoe". 25$ are heavily worn out ...
The only thing is that it is more difficult to resell the CPC, but not to the one who once owned them.

I know there is a lot of discussion about piling chips and piling CPC chips here, but I am curious about piling CPCs with shaped inlays. I had seen some comments about the increased danger of oil getting underneath shaped inlays. But I can’t find any real discussion on the issue. Is simply oiling the edges the best approach? Can anyone (those with shaped inlays) point me in the right direction on this topic?

@Nex @Quicksilver-75

I compression oiled all of my CPC's and have had zero issues with bubbling inlays or inlays being damaged in any way.

piling = typo for oiling?

So did I, with similar experiences. One rub around the edge of each chip that also oils the ring of clay around the inlay on each face.

I also looked at the inlays more closely - from those damaged chips where they fell out - and it looks like the print layer is fused inbetween layers of plastic. I haven't managed to peel one of these apart. It could be possible that the print layer could draw a tiny little bit of oil around the edge of the inlay, but it seems unlikely that it could go beyond that unless you really soak the chips in oil and leave them in it over a good period of time. The shaped inlays appear to only differ in the shaped cut.

I would not try to do this "fully submerge in an oil+water solution" method, but manual rubbing aka compression oiling seems to be just fine.

If you want to just wipe the edges .. I think this is the best way ...
