Controversial Chip & Poker Opinions (103 Viewers)

It might be unrealistic, but not always. I've had stuff out for a long time that did sell eventually, when I didn't want to sell at loss and wasn't in a hurry.
Now, whether something like that is a good deal depends on the buyer's needs and intentions for the chips.
This. Not everyone checks the site 24/7 or even daily or weekly. Just because you are selling something that takes time to find a buyer who wants it, does not mean the asking price is inherently unreasonable or wrong.

Yeah, I'll concede that. Not a good deal, but things can eventually sell if someone is looking.

To that poibt someobe posting chips for what they bought when the market was hot may not be a good deal now. People need to understand the current market before posting "great deal", or better yet, buy the chips yourself.

Pro tip, if a sale gets dibsed in the first 30 seconds it is an amazing deal (seller priced chips way below market value) 5 minutes it is a great deal (seller's price is fair and chips are desirable) an hour a good deal (seller's price is fair), sitting for a week is a unrealistic price/bad deal (seller wants top dollar and chips are less desirable but seller is willing to wait).

A product to sell within an hour and that’s consider a fair price but a week isn’t is wild guys lol

Not everyone is a degenerate like us. Sometimes people see something for sale and need a few days/weeks/months to consider buying it and maybe save money for it lol.

Many still stuck in the mindset of the times when $20k sets were dibbed within seconds. If you look at classifieds before the price explosion you’ll see amazing shit sat unsold and bumped for months more often than not.

Yeah, I was wrong to say unrealistic, but the price may not be a "why are these still here" price.

I also understand that there is a much more limited audience for the premium big dollar chips.

The gripe is more with chips from 3 TCR sales ago sitting at prices above TCRs last sale price for the chips (which could even still be active) and a bunch of sale fluffers posting about how it is such a great deal.

What about the new tiger primary $5s at original pricing that were available for more than a day? Surely commenting that that is a good deal isnt fluffing.

Sounds like my controversial opinion is idgaf about fluffers. Let em fluff. The frequency of someone getting screwed on a deal because of fluffers is likely very low.

I know I have done the “how are these still here” before when stuff has been sitting. I assume it’s near the same thoughts for many others that post it - a strong urge inside myself to buy because the deal is right but it’s stupid to do with no need or use and surely someone out there is looking for them wtf someone please buy them so I don’t start a 38th set because the deal is solid = “how are these still here”

Once a set is listed for a price similar to a very decent used car I’m out. I guess I’m a cheap addict. Guys relabeling Tiger Palace and other chips of that stature are well above my pay grade. I need to eat and pay bills, but would like to congratulate them on their success that allows them that indulgence. I can only drool.

CIC chips are one of the worst inventions ever....
Buh. What the fuck.

Who doesn't like a good fluffering tho....

I think everyone knows what you mean, you’re right and they’re right.

There are some sets that do deserve a huge price tag, and something at 6, 7, 8, 12k might take a moment.

Sure, but why do we have to intentionally make chipping hard?

A little fluff, sure.

But a little fluff + erasing original pricing while doing reductions + removing pricing altogether after it’s sold + not mentioning sales price when sold to a private offer + the forum having a policy of no honesty negativity allowed in classifieds + 50 other things makes being in the public market for chips sh*t.

Color me confused on how everything is so circle j*rky and “community” everywhere on PCF except….the classifieds.

A forum full of poker players. Color me surprised these are the dynamics. This is the game we play.

Is there a way to hide a thread? Like if I browse classifieds I dont want to see a thread thst ive seen that I dont want to see again

Its just at most 1 paycheck and then ull have the set for life tho.

Your paycheck must put mine to shame. A $9200 chip set is more than a single paycheck to me. Funny thing, I never thought I was poor, but by those standards I am borderline.
i mean like a TP 300~400 set can be had for 2.5k to 3k that's all I meant. or like 600 to 800 a rack.

Gross. It was bound to happen though. Chinese resellers aren't going to respect the creators' wishes. All they see are super popular and expensive chips that they can make a few bucks on.

Also, that 25 is not blurple! They fucked that up so bad.

Ok, I waaaay overpaid for my set compared to those. Maybe time to flip and get those. Ah well, guess I’m stuck with the ol’ paulsorooney’s then.

I would be intrigued to find out which weasel done it and if it was a PCFr. I don’t think this set would be that well known outside of this community to have a random third party make a shitty copy of that specific set.

F’em.
