Ok so I’m new here and to the chipping world.
I’ve generally gathered that Paulson’s are prime. I’ve not personally played poker with them, but have handled them in Vegas during play.
I’m awaiting my first big set of China Clays currently. I’ll probably understand more when I get them but I’m just curious first
Everyone here seems to be in agreement that Paulsons are number 1.
And it seems like a huge bunch think that China Clay (majestic, royal, pharaoh, dune, Milano) is the closest you’re gonna get?
But where do custom sets from CPC fall? I’ve seen people say the quality isn’t close enough to mix them with a Paulson for play. Is that the same case for China Clay? Which is closer?
Is the benefit of CPC over CC just the fact that you’re picking your own edgespots and colors and they’re installing labels? Or is the chip better? Because I haven’t seen any threads (you can only read so many though) that say the CPC’s are better quality than CC.
I’ve still gotta put the time in on my new Majestics (that haven’t even arrived yet hahaha) before I could decide to upgrade to CPCs or Paulsons. Though I’m impulsive, I like to be smart lol. But I’m still thinking long term and holy shit should I be watching out and snagging some big deal on Paulsons? And really even one of my biggest holdbacks there is that I run .05/.10 games and I’ve yet to see anyone have .05 marked Paulsons. Maybe because $2-$10 per chip for a nickel chip is a little off balance haha.
Anyway the main question is a comparison between CPC quality and CC quality. Or do I have to get a CPC sample to tell myself? And if this has been previously covered, my apologies - feel free to redirect me to the appropriate thread!
Thanks!
