eBay doesn't verify peoples identities or credit scores. You think this one-owner site with some volunteer mods is going to do it?

The undertaking wouldn't work because:

1. A lot of members won't jump through the hoops or would find it intrusive

2. The site staff don't have the time or resources to do it and maintain it

3. The site staff isn't going to want that sort of responsibility or liability on their shoulders

To the people who think credit is too far - i didn’t mean for it to be mandatory. I meant for it to be an option especially for newer members that don’t have much history. Would you not be more inclined to buy from a new member if their identity was verified and they had a high credit score? You could use credit, you could use a cc, an eBay account with sales history etc - credit was just one example.

A lot of money is changing hands on here - I (and many landlords) ask for credit and pay stubs on leases that are worth less than what some sets go for. eBay doesn’t require any of this but their solution is a big reason why almost all transactions are f&f - just put all the risk on the seller, and charge 2.8% for the “service”.

It takes all of 5 minutes and could require a 10$ application fee. No liability for pcf. All you’re doing is saying that the person provided a pic of a valid license and a corresponding documents. If a scammer went so far as to forge these things convincingly or steal someone else’s identity then it’s not pcfs responsibility.

I would guess that some of that $20k was spent on her. I would also guess that it's not their first or only scam.

I was pretty sure this was gonna be edited or moderated so I screenshotted a few to at least have the telephone numbers that were visible.
Still hoping someone will pursue this through the netherland justice system since it's what I believe is the only course of action that has a chance of a just outcome.
It's not my jurisdiction and I have no skin in the game but if he'd be a resident in germany I would've made some calls and get the ball rolling already.

I’m cars there are some projects worth doing like an old mustang or porche that needs a lot of work. There are others tha go to the scrapyard like that ‘00 civic that has no engine, no tires, to tranny, and is basically all rust. Narwas is the Civic and belongs in the scrapyard (jail).
