Does anyone personally know The Chip Exchange on here? I know he is a vendor for the site, which makes all of this that much more confusing on my end.

I negotiated a relatively small deal with them on September 23rd-25th. Paid for the item on September 25th and was told he was out of town and would ship it on Monday, September 29th.

I didn't hear from him again until October 6th, when he asked me to confirm my shipping address. I sent the PayPal address that I used, and a label was eventually printed that day.

Fast forward another week, and the item still hasn't been officially shipped, and he hasn't responded to multiple attempts of mine to get clarity on the situation (in fairness, he hasn't logged on since that October 6th conversation).

I don't know if something is going on with him health-wise, but the entire thing doesn't make sense on my end since we are approaching three weeks of very little movement. How long is reasonable to wait before opening a PayPal case? Or does anyone have an update on something else going on with him?
 
Yeah he was traveling a good bit a few months ago when I made a purchase as well, and also when he printed his tracking label it never showed shipped and then just arrived out of nowhere. Sounds similar to what you have going on.

You have nothing to worry about other than a delay.
 
Might be on vacation or something. He’s a trusted vendor for decades.
Thanks for the reply! Definitely no rush on my end to receive the item if he is enjoying life. I just was confused/a little worried for him by the delay and lack of response.

We all need a little more vacationing in life, haha.
Yeah he was traveling a good bit a few months ago when I made a purchase as well, and also when he printed his tracking label it never showed shipped and then just arrived out of nowhere. Sounds similar to what you have going on.

Trusted vendor or not, when you make a deal as a seller, how long does it take to keep the customer posted on the progress?
I get it, things happen and timing of vacations or surgery etc can interfere, but your purchasers shouldn’t spend a week or more wondering what’s going on.
I do when I order from Amazon or any other online retailer. 7-10 days is not uncommon.

For whatever it is worth in this situation, we are approaching 21 days. I don't even disagree about the 7-10 answer, but three weeks feels like an extremely long time to provide virtually no update as to the delay.

How long since the shipping label was sent to you / printed?

I am less concerned about it now after hearing your response/experience in the past. It also helps to explain the lack of tracking update in the system.

All I am saying is a simple acknowledgement probably would have been helpful on October 6th. "Sorry for the two week delay in getting this out. XYZ came up. Label has been printed. I will get this out to you in the next week or so. Don't be surprised if it doesn't update in real time." That would have prevented the need for a post.

As I said, I am new to the site. I don't know people on here or their history. I just feel like the clock shouldn't reset of how long it has been if no reason is given as to why we have a delay in the first place. Two weeks is already a long time to not even acknowledge as to why we have a delay. An additional week of no updates after a label was printed only added to the initial questions for me.

I think that is good advice. I will reach out on Insta.
