More of a question than a concern. That's a fair price. What I meant to say, is will that work? Will they fit in a flat rate bubble mailer, or would they need to go in something bigger?

Good question.

It will certainly NOT work (at least, not without labor and some pre-folding on my part, which I'm not sure I want to sign up for)...

A custom shipping solution will need to be figured out. I checked the flat-shaped USPS flat rate box, and it will not fit in that either.

This is an awesome value for some great storage boxes. I'd be pretty confident we can order more than 5000 boxes between members and vendors.

Having to reship all that will be quite a task. However, I'll pay whatever for shipping to save you some time in having to maneuver them to fit in FRBs.

Thanks in advance for everything, Andrew. It is truly appreciated.

So, through our discussion he did tell me that they package their custom boxes in, naturally, custom boxes. So it will be very easy to re-ship the bulk orders to vendors. No issue there.

The time consuming part will be figuring out how to get the boxes out to those ordering 10, 20, 30, etc. If there is some incentive (eg, $$$) in there for me to do some pre-folding to get them to fit into standard shipping containers, then I could probably be coerced. ;)

@Spinettis Gaming ... @David Spragg ... @GameOnChipCompany ... @palmgaming ... @T_Chan ... @Apache ... @dennis63 ... @OldWestPokerSupplies ... @The Chip Exchange

Please see this post. Is this something you would be interested in, in bulk?

If so, please let me know and we can discuss via PM as well.

Thanks, but as mentioned earlier in the thread, we already get ours cheaper than the quote with delivery and have several years worth in stock right now.

I seem to recall that the poster that started this all off (wanting 'thousands') only expected to pay 25c :)
On the 44mm I wouldn't want to invest that much. We probably only use 40 a year. I can make do with cutting the insert in a 39mm type 2 box in half and fitting 80 per box.
Of course if there is considerable demand in this thread for 44mm type 1's and the price is therefore reasonable then I could take a couple hundred.

Seriously though, I say you reship by the case and charge a premium for every case you have to crack open for smaller orders.

That's actually feasible... but I think we'd need to be well into the 25,000-30,000 realm.

Who knows - anything is possible. If vendors do step up with bulk orders, prices could drop quite rapidly. Even approaching 10,000 would knock the unit cost down quite a bit.

I gotta think that USPS has a standard envelope that these would fit in unfolded...... and no need for priority shipping, if First Class would suffice for less.

Can you supply the overall dimensions of the three unfolded Type 1 box components?

I think everything will be dictated by the "tray" piece, which is approximately 15.5" long by 2.5" wide, flat.

The lid is the next largest piece, by length, at 15.25" x 5.75", flat.

So, we'll need something that is at least 16"x6" to make this work.

@BGinGA ... What are your thoughts here? Try to pursue two different types in on GB? Try to secure 5,000 of the basic 100 ct. first? Or is it not even practical trying to hit 5,000 units?

I think hitting 5000 of Type 1 is feasible. Not sure the others make financial sense.

I'm also wondering if we can somehow design a box that could be used for both 39mm and 43mm chips, perhaps using two different inserts......

5000 is easily feasible ...look at like this you only need interest for 2500 because at that point it is a 2 for 1......plus a couple dollars for extra shipping So basically if you have internet for 2500 most people are going to just double their order because they are committing to X amount of dollars anyway.

I think it would be beneficial to know how many come in a "case" and what reshipping is

I think a case is 200 or 250 boxes. Re shipping will depend on weight, but I can inquire.

I bought about 100 of the type 2 boxes from either Spinettis or Apache after the Horseshoe ChipRoom sale, and they're already gone. Then again, I did sell about 8000 of those damn things, lol

Wellllll that's good enough for now:D. Are there smaller prepacked reshippable boxes that comprise a case....say like 50 or 100 pcs??

I may have a good idea along those lines; will post tomorrow after I can check if it still makes sense after sleeping.

I think it will work, we're just going to have two tiers of buyers.... bulk buyers, and small orders.

Bulk buyers can select a total quantity of "cases" and will have their shipping costs priced based on cost per case. Smaller orders will be priced out based on individual shipping needs. Kind of standard GB stuff. I think it will work out.

The real goal will be to get to a commitment of 5,000 boxes. Anything beyond that is just gravy, as any added quantities just makes the per-box price lower.

I'm going to email Warneke tomorrow as a friendly follow-up, and to see if we can get more specific pricing for the Type 1, 100 count box. He took specific measurements of that box, and has it in his notes, but was going to wait to hear from me to take things further. Based on responses so far, it seems like the Type 1/100 should be our starting point for this order. That should be enough for him to put together better pricing, with breaks at certain quantity levels.

Once we have more detailed pricing I should be able to at least start a GB thread, and start hounding vendors, etc.

How did I miss this last week?

In for Type 1 and will ballpark my total at something like 500+ boxes. That is contingent upon me getting to pick them up from Andrew to avoid reship costs. I would also be willing to drive a quantity back to Phoenix for anyone making a purchase since I'm making the drive August 6. @Psypher1000

Nice work! I would be in for 50-100 myself, and if there was interest from other members in Europe I could take a case and re-ship smaller quantities.

OK, based on the last few posts my arm is twisted enough to start an interest thread. My calendar is slammed the next 48 hours, but I'll try to get something posted up Sunday morning.

Brunch, mimosas, and Group Buys. Sounds like a nice little Sunday to me. :)

PS: @BGinGA - let me know your thoughts on making one box work for both 39mm and 43mm ... I'd probably want to have that conversation with Warneke before I go too far down the spec/design road. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you think it would be better handled offline.

I'll start a design PM with you and @Mental Nomad this afternoon (if one of you two don't beat me to it).
