Camp Zama Poker Club Custom Set (1 Viewer)

So I have finally started getting a little more serious about this custom set I want to do. Here are the beginning plans. Let me know your thoughts.

The chip colors are based on Army ribbons and insignia all of which my dad wore or was awarded during his service in the Army during the Vietnam war, with the exception of the Purple Heart. The Camp Zama comes from the Army base where he was stationed and where I was born in Japan. Still need to work on the inlay, and have thought about putting a different inlay on the back side. Something like this:

Here are the medals/ribbons that the colors are based on:

$25 - Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon

100 - Overseas Service Bar (Can't decide between Blue or Black for this one)

500 - Purple Heart (Which Purple and spot pattern)

1000 - Republic of Vietnam Service Medal (Can't decide which spot pattern I like better)

5000 National Defense Service Medal -

10000 - Armed Forces Radio Vietnam -

NCV - MACV Olive Drab -

I am open to any suggestions, recommendations, criticisms. Also, if any one has ideas for Rebuy/AddOn, Bounty, Seating chips please share them. Not sure if I am going to include them or not. And can't decide if I need a 25000, which I could go chip or plaque on those.

Can you explain your choice on B-Mold here ?

Get rid of the 2nd chip, Blue and go with Black to avoid confusion on the $100, go with the lighter purple as Blurple can look very similar to black in low light. Whichever yellow $1000 you like better=pick it. On the 5,000 if your committed to these colors switch the white/yellow spots...you have ALOT of yellow going on here. Last, figure out something different for your 10k...waaay to similar to your 5k. Hopefully pairing things down can focus this set so that members can help a bit more as there is too much going on in that 1st post. Best wishes!

Thanks for the feedback so far. Made a change to the 5K and 10K and narrowed down to my preferred colors, patterns.

Not at all ! It is a great mold !
I was just curious to understand why it was your choice Thanks and enjoy your custom project !

I think thats dramatic improvement. Very nice! I like the black but I'm ocd traditional Vegas colors. Either would work, it's the benefits of making a custom set = do what you like best.

I'm going back and forth on the Blue vs Black for that reason. But I kind of like the blue for a custom feel, and it is closer to the actual ribbon colors.

Swapped the grey and blue on the 10K - thoughts on them? Does one work better than the other? Also, on the 5K, there is another stripe in the white spots, should I leave it white? or add one of the other colors to it?

On the 5k you could throw that same Red into that White edgespot and see how you like it.

The 10k I strongly prefer the way you changed it...red on Grey and the White on Blue. I think it contrasts and shows up significantly better.

I admire the inspiration.

But, I still think there are too many similar colours among big spots/base among denoms within 2 adjacents chips which will be prone to dirty stacks.

I like the blue 100, and agree that the red on gray and white on blue makes the colors stand out more.

Based on my preferences, and the suggestions and feedback I am leaning towards these color combinations. Now just need to work on my inlay, or get some help from a professional...LOL

1. I haven't added the denoms yet. Still need to work on my inlay.
2. The mountain is based on the patch for Camp Zama and is a representation of Mt Fuji.
