My wife has a conference in Clearwater Beach in June, and I’ll be working remotely from the resort during the day with some free time at night :cool

What’s the closest recommended cardroom or casino? Any PCFers hosting games?

Any restaurant, excursion, or sightseeing recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

I was in St Pete beach in 2019...you can try the Seminole hard rock in Tampa.

Thanks - looks to be about 45 mins away, with Silks poker room being about 35 mins away. I figured there would be a small racetrack cardroom closer?

PJ's Oyster Bar, oh, and a reservation his highly recommended at Salt Rock, they stay packed!

Hard Rock Tampa is great. Room is very big, nice and full of fish, especially in the winter.

It's a big Casino and unless you park in the correct parking lot it'll be a long walk. Park in the Draper Place Garage and the elevator takes you right down to the card room

Headed to Clearwater for 4 nights, starting tomorrow.

Anyone know what 1-3 PRIME at Win! Derby is? Looks super deep for 1-3.

Redeemable the first of the next month

$1-$3- $3/hr food/drink comp redeemable in 5hr blocks. Food comp does not roll over to the next day.
$2-$5- $3/hr food and drink comp. Expires at the end of the following month.

I think the $500 Instant Pay refers to HHJs.

If you're interested in local breweries, there are a ton of good ones in the area.

Clearwater has 3 Daughters and Arkane, two that I know are good, plus several others.

If you go a little south to St. Pete, you've got Pinellas Ale Works, 3 Daughters (again), and a few others all within walking distance. You could Uber down, make a day of it, and Uber back.

Appreciate these recommendations. Thank you!

There are four poker rooms in the Tampa area

Derby Lane - located in St Pete across the water from Tampa (old dog track that just has poker now). Never played there much

Then three rooms in in the Tampa side:

Tampa Hard Rock Casino - going to have the best promotions and game selection available, room is beautiful. Be sure to park in the Draper Street Garage. From there take the elevator to the poker room (bottom level) or you can also go to level 3 of the elevator or via the stairs, go through the doors on your left as you get off the elevator and then take a SHARP left and there's an escalator down that you'd miss if you didn't know it was there. Takes you right to the poker room, no need to walk through miles of smokey slots to get there

Tampa Greyhound Track (kinda "low-rent" but you'll encounter less misreg pros with no social skills, but some rougher characters)

Silks Poker Room - has more of a home game feel to it, but I had a bad experience where a dealer chastised me for calling out their mistake in trying to award a pot to the wrong player after both hands were tabled (she was trying to protect a big tipper rather than the game). Last I knew she was featured heavily in the rooms advertising so I'd expect you'll need to watch for favoritism towards regs in this room when rulings are made

Thanks, much appreciated! I think Silks and Win! Derby are closest to where I am staying but Hard Rock is a strong consideration as well, if I’m able to get out for a session.
