Any PA/NJ/NY Poker Players here?

What's you're Favorite PA Casino? I just don't go to AC any longer unless it is to the Borgata or I get a free room somewhere because the 2 hour drive is just too long with closer Casinos in PA.

I play at the Sands Bethlehem most often. Probably maybe once or at the most twice a month. It's probably the closest to me in Central Jersey or the same distance as Parx Casino in Bensalem, PA. I go to Parx once in a while if I'm near that area. The Poker room at the Parx has some good action and is nice, but I don't like Parx because the Casino and Poker Room are in two separate buildings and the food options suck at the Parx. For me and my wife to find each other is a pain in the butt. Does anyone know if the $150 Million Dollar renovation the Parx is going to do will combine the Poker Room and Casino in the same building. Also are they adding a Hotel?

I heard the Sands is going to close the Carnagie Deli and make that into the New Poker room. The Sands has a Nice Hotel and outlet Shopping for the wife and the restaurants are nicer. They recently added a Kids Quest which they can watch your kid like a Day Care. My son enjoys it. Overall a better experience for me and my wife, but my only complaint is the heavy smoke in the Casino Sucks.

I tried "beautiful" Mount Airy Lodge in the Poconos. The Poker room at the time I went there 5 years ago was very Small. I felt we were packed in like a can of Sardines. Overall not that great of an experience and I would never go back. The drive was also just as far as AC. All I can think of is the "Beautiful Mount Airy Lodge" commercial from the 80s. If you lived in the Tri-State Area in the 80s you will remember that commercial. I don't know why they always played that commercial during afternoon or morning cartoons on Chanel 5 or 11 when it was an adults only resort. Pretty much you take your Goomah there for the weekend.

How about the other rooms. How is the Mohegan Sun in the Poconos? Harras in Chester? I passed a Hollywood Casino(I think that is the name) I on the way to Hershey. How is that? There is one in Philly I know of, but I'm not sure what the name is. People told me it is a Dump. I also saw one in Valley Forge but I didn't see it had a Poker Room.

Just wanted to see what the other Eastern PA rooms were like.

Grew up in Stroudsburg and hit Sands Bethlehem when I’m home, which is not very often (once or twice a year).

Mount Airy, lol! Or as my brother prefers to call the poker room there... Mount Scary.

I've played at Harrah's Chester. The casino is pretty meh but the medium sized tournaments are good and the cash games seem to have decent action. I'm never opposed to going there if I'm in the area.

Hollywood Grantville(the one near Hershey) is my local casino about 35 minutes away. On the smaller side, but action on Friday night and weekends is very good. The players are terrible. High hand day is a gold mine.

Parx has the most action of the PA casinos I visit. Been a few times and like it a lot.

Haven't been to Sugar House because fuck going to downtown Philly but I heard the action is insane.

Won't go to Sands because of Adelson.

Delaware Park's poker room is kinda meh, but I would play there again if in the area.

Haven't been to Valley Forge and I don't even know if they have a poker room. Will be there for a Magic tournament in January though.

I live 5 mins from Valley Forge. Unfortunately they don't have poker

Yeah I was so excited when two years ago or so we had to go that area and stay over the weekend for a wedding. Then I found out there was no Poker.

And unfortunately there is no plan for it. They don't seem to feel there is enough floor space to dedicate to poker. There is more money per square foot in table games or slots I guess

I know they have a new upgraded gaming license which was part of the new law passed a few weeks ago. They no longer require a membership, and I believe they can now add more gaming tables. However, as mentioned, space is an issue. We'll see.
