Barrington poker table thread (20 Viewers)

Those Solo cups work great for a lot of snacks, too.

They take up less space than plates, napkins, or bowls, contain the crumbs, and allow for fingerless no-contact eating -- which means less debris and oils (and saliva) transferring to the cards, chips, and felt.

Fill one of these bad boys with pub mix from Costco and the other with your favorite beverage and it's PARTY TIME

Question: the Pit Boss folding Table vs the Barrington Table

Are they the same thing, I have had the pit boss version and would like to upgrade it if possible
If not able to I did find the Barrington on OfferUp app cheap and could buy it and upgrade it

Next question: has anyone fixed or replaced the vinyl on their rail, I section of mine ha a bad tear

never even thought of this, wow. especially in the covid world, this is pretty huge.

Another successful upgrade! Had this thread bookmarked for ages. Followed @jcooper911 steps with no issues. Deeper cup holders on order and will be installed later this week, along with some handles to help with carrying.

Congrats - that looks great, is it the standard black YAT speedcloth? Very nice. Glad i could help with the instructions :)

Thank you for the detailed tutorial. Super helpful!

Went with ‘charcoal’ from Texas Poker Supply. I’m digging the overall darker look.

On to the cup holders...

Leather repair kit? I didn't have anything like that happen to mine. Must have been extremely dry or something?

As for the support bar, I took a dremel with a small cutting wheel and cut it flush with the opening.

Not pretty, but worked!

Mine looked pretty similar. Just make sure to sand the sharp edges a little. I also put some electrical tape over it so nobody cut their knees on it. The larger cup holders really make a big difference and will surely lead to less spilling of beers. Great job

for those of you that did the cupholder upgrade, was your speed cloth all the way to the edges? i.e. did you hole saw right through the speed cloth as well? this had not occurred to me until now...

Before I forget, be careful not to catch any of the "leather" when you put the hole in. Made this mistake and tore some of it

You can go right through the SSC. Make sure the hole saw is past the padded rail, but above the SSC. Your drill bit should be centered up nicely and in contact with the SSC/table. Start your drill before contacting the SSC. Apply continuous pressure through the table. Couple of seconds per cup holder. Watch the 4 corners as the table legs support is just under those. You'll need to trim about 1-1.5 inches off those to make room for the cup holders in those spots. Check @Regularjohn 's posts just above.

I’ve been waiting for the price of this table to drop for a few weeks, but it went up from $250 to $260!

Does anyone think the price will dip back down to the $99-$160 that have been mentioned in older posts? Has it event been this high? Is my waiting futile, and is the table still worth it at current prices?

definitely looking to get one of these and do all the upgrades, but I Don’t want to feel like a fool buying it at $260 when it’s been at $99 in the past.

I would say the sales are usually around black friday and Christmas but could get lucky and may have a sale close to July 4th to try to push products post-COVID19

You can also keep your eye on Amazon Warehouse. Sometimes items become available there for cheaper - may have a blemish or not have original packaging, etc. But, you could score a decent deal if one becomes available there.

I lurked for a while, managed to finally grab it a couple months back for $210 at Wal-Mart. I got it for the fact that it stores pretty great, and it really does. The playing surface kinda stinks, but if you're willing to refelt it it shouldn't be an issue

At that price it is most decidedly not worth it. At $99 it saves you some cash over building a table yourself. At $250, plus the cost of upgrades, you can build yourself at that price and have a better table.

I'd agree 250 is pushing it. I got mine for 170 which I think is the sweet spot. With a lot of casinos not opening poker rooms yet (or have plans to)a, wouldn't be surprised people are starting to host games more and need a table delivered quickly. Hence the price increase.

I think part of the draw with the barrington upgrade is that it's pretty easy and relatively quick to do. so I still think 250 is worth it. But that's at the top end. When I was doing research on a table, building from scratch seemed prohibitive due to difficulty, time, and tools needed. This seemed to fit perfectly. Good price and some customization that wasn't difficult.

I hit the point where not only am I willing to refelt it but I'm unwilling to play even one more hand on that POS gaming surface. Mine came loose at some edges and it's pilled like a SOB after limited sessions so it was high time for some cheap SSC. Figured if I'm already taking the thing apart, might as well upgrade the padding too. Will update later--gonna be doing it in a NYC shoebox, wish me luck!

Finished a little while ago, finally made it back home (tables actually in the office lol). Came out *spectacular.* Broke the table down and did most of the first side by myself, then a few hours into it my buddy who's a IATSE stagehand came over and helped me knock out the rest and put it back together in just over an hour.

Two observations I had that I feel like sharing, to help someone avoid similar issues:
1) The cup holders have waaayyyy too much glue. I mean obscene amounts of glue--only way I was able to pry them off was taking a wallpaper scraper, a hammer, and getting in between the cup holder and the wood. My friend had mentioned a heatgun, but I was worried about melting the pleather on the rail.
2) When you put the rails back on, unless you're planning on painstakingly lining up the screws with the original holes in the rail pieces, put the side rails on before the middle curved piece. My buddy and I had to readjust the first side because if you go around the horn, good chance a few mm off on either rail piece will make the 3rd one stick out past the fold.

Couldn't have done it without my buddy's help and @jcooper911 notes. Your post (from page 2) laying it all out made it infinitely easier than trying to do it freestyle. After doing it myself (with the help of a power drill), you have nothing but my respect for getting this done with a manual screwdriver before 2022. Shoutout to the NYC Barrington Mob!

EDIT: cupholders are missing because there was so much f*****g wood glue. Putting em back in would've ripped the pleather. New ones coming Sunday...
