FYI I called the floor to see when the poker room reopens after WSOP. Was going to open tomorrow but I’ve been told it’s open right now. Go get your 5s before these great chips are destroyed in the rebrand I’ll be there Aug 4 one night. Hitting GN Aug 2.

More Ballys chip news. Last week a bunch of fresh racks released into the poker room. Still plenty more in there. One person in the cage said the Horseshoe Tourney chips are beautiful. Couldn’t find a person who saw the cash set but have confirmed the chips are there and they are still saying Dec. 15 is the GO. Poker room is very nice. I showed up and all 18 tables rocking.

@slisk250 Nice work! Did the cage just sell you mint singles because they know they are going to be destroyed?

Since any leftovers will be destroyed, it would be interesting to know what the conversation is like with the people working the cages as the changeover date gets closer and closer.

So awesome that there's so many new chips on the table. Those fives are really something else. Your set is completely insane @slisk250 , and I can only imagine how it will stand out in a few years when the chips are long gone from the casino.

I know the casino's typically don't want you walking out of the property with their $1 chips that probably cost them $1 or more to acquire, but honestly..... if the gaming commission is going to make them destroy those chips in a few days anyway, wouldn't it be better to get a dollar for them now rather than nothing? Or is there some sort of tax liability that I'm blissfully unaware of?

It’s a gray area really as they are supposed to be issued for gaming. Don’t care to look up the laws but they know exactly how many chips they lose every day. I know of three times they released new chips into the casino since April. Just 1s and 5s. Can we get the $4s that are surely in the back of the main cage? Is there a rack of new 25s in there? I’ve seen exactly one nice 25 and zero nice hundos in the last 6 months. Lots of time on that casino floor.

Some cages are different. Some will sell some won’t. I know Plaza will sell 5s and up but I don’t want em. I joked with a cashier once. “Just save me two hours. Those mint 1s are on the craps tables and I’ll get them anyway…and I did!

@slisk250 Thanks for all the informative updates! I want to visit the Horseshoe on Dec. 15th to do some harvesting of the new chips myself, but I'm not sure what's the best method. Do you typically just jump into a low limit game, buy in for as many racks as possible, then dump the racks into a backpack? Haha! That's what I'm imagining. Sounds kinda fun, but also kinda stressful worrying that security will ask me to leave.

With a casino full of new chips I won’t waste my time at a poker table. Craps will be quicker if stakes aren’t 25min. Also 3 card poker will be good for me. I plan to take home 80 25s and a barrel of hundos for my set of the chips are thc. If it’s rhc chips I’ll go enjoy Vegas.

5. Pocket $1s. Cash in rest. Buy in for the max in $5s
