I think the price point is decent, 350 I think for the lot of them… in this condition is it a good price? I’m going to be using them consistently. I have about 3-4 games a week. I just want to have the best home game experience possible.

It’s a fair price. From Apache?
They are (heavily) casino used though. And fives looks to be a mix of regular and grand opening chips.

There are certainly better chips out there but those are a cheap and simple way to get some Paulsons. Will probably not be your endgame set

Seems like a fair price for that lot. Paulson Chips can get quite a bit more expensive, based on the condition of the chips, and colors etc.

That’s about as cheap as you will find for a playable set of Paulson casino chips. It’s also about as “casino used” as you will ever see.

Welcome to the forum. :) look up that casino here “majestic star” many many people here have sets from that casino. You can see comparatively how “used” they are compared to others sets here.

Buy some samples to get a feel for what they and other chips are. Maybe you like them.

There are many cheap chips I would buy over these. I rate worn down rhc paulsons under ceramics, china clays, even injection molded plastics like the outlaws.

Majestic Star cash chips are leaded Paulsons. The formulation of chip material changed in the late 90s/early 2000's that eliminated most of the lead in chips....thus some folks are paranoid about washing hands after handling these chips. Shouldn't be a real issue but you will want to wash the chips when received as the chips are unless washed by Apache dirty from hand gunk, the people of Gary Indiana had dirty hands. These chips are more worn than most other Paulson chip seen here.....the main issue is that the 1s and 5s are more worn than most other chips with the 25s also being quite worn. They may make shuffling chip easy "like butter" similar to your local casino....But you can not compare stacks of $5's with stacks of $25's or higher you you may get an uneven stack (where 21-5's are the same height as 20 other chips....) heights requiring more counting than comparing stacks side by side.

My local casino used to have horribly worn $5 chips....the full face $5 chips at casino Rama in Ontario in the poker room were so round there was barely an edge mold visible (barely any top hat left) still the chips stacked and shuffled no problems at all, you just had to compare $5 stacks with only $5 because a stack of 20-$25 would be comparably equal to 21-22-$5 chips. It meant the dealer would count $5 stacks for accuracy when played. Other than that issue I remember liking them well enough to use.

Not everyone can handle worn chips. Chip snob can’t even handle normal used chips without making noises

It will not be my first recommendation set as a starter set.

The Majestic Star set have quite a few different conditions variations between the denominations & You will be require to do some cherry picking as well if you want a much more decent condition set.

I did assembled a budgeted set myself when the TCR was selling them and it only cost me slight over $220 for a set over 600 chips in the process (after cherry picking them)

If the breakdown works for you AND you don't mind worn chips, then it seems like it might be a good place to jump in.

I obtained a set through the original Chip Room sale and cleaned each and every one of my darn chips...great way to get to know the chips and possibly intake a small dose of lead. :)

I've managed to get these on a table a few times, and the players seem to really like them. The main advantages, as others have said above, are shuffle feel and the leaded clay. The main disadvantages have also been stated; the stack sizing and inconsistencies will be noticeable.

Personally I like the fact that they are VERY well-used and that they carry forward some weird casino boat history. I never have to worry about people damaging them because they have already been through the fire and the flames!
