Are CPC Rounders Chips Worth the $$? (1 Viewer)

I'm surprised. This is what was ordered. Maybe he was thinking of the T25K we ordered?
Probably, or maybe he judged from the picture I sent him.
It seems quite "bright white" on there.

I was thinking which colors to choose for the 25k chip and the following questions popped up.
If you don't mind answering these:

1. How do you like your 1k, 5k and 25k chip in person?
Fot the 5k chip - does the "normal" white blend in better with the gray base and charcoal spots or do you think you should've chosen bright white so it pops more?

2. Do you have a picture of the 25k chip?

3. If you'd buy these again, would you again choose a blue 25k or instead a green/dark green/teal color. (I've read those are the most common colors for 25k)

Hi @JMC9389

Where you able to look at the above questions?

I've made a separate post with some designs, take a look if you'd like!

My apologies for not getting back sooner. Lots of outside of forum stuff ongoing, but neither here nor there.

1. The 1k's and 25k's are show stoppers as individual chips. The 5k less so, but it goes well in the scheme of the set. Either white will be fine, but that brings me to my answer for question #3.

3. If keeping the 5k chip as is with a gray base and a charcoal and white/bright white edge spots, I would advocate for a DG pink spot on the 25k chip. It's not that the stacks or pots end up dirty looking between the 5k and 25k, but it'll bring a little more of a "pop" to the 25k chip. Granted, there will never be a huge amount of them on the table unless you play with super deep stacks or have a 30+ player field, but your mileage may vary.

Here's some photos I snapped. It may be hard to see, but there's a definite difference between the white on the 5k chip versus the 25k chip.

Also concidering CPC, have anyone got them made with no $-sign? (pictures?)

Can anyone tell me what the appeal of Rounders chips are beyond just being the ones from the movie? To me they just come off a supremely bland. Is it literally just love for the movie or am I missing something?

The appeal is mostly that they are from the movie. The remainder is that they are made on the same equipment and to the same design as the props used in the movie. Spots and colors are the same, the inlay is exactly the same and the only difference is the mold. The mold that was used for the movie is worn out and can't be used and the agreement with the production company and ASM (originally, though passed on to CPC) for the movie was that exact replicas can't be made.

To the second part, they look bland because in the movie they were chips being used in a dingy, underground poker club in New York City. Flashier chips just wouldn't fit the scene or the environment of what was taking place and where the scenes were taking place. They'd look out of place.

You're missing something.
For me, it's not about the movie. And after seeing them in person, I just loved the color combinations and how they pop. The set just works (and again, much better in real than on photos).
