So i found these chips from a private vendor in person and they are a set of 270 chips do you think they are worth it and authentic ?
they are charging 1,900 doll hairs for it and im gonna go look at them on friday so i need the advice asap please help
pharoah chjips.webp

No, not worth it. $7/chip for what looks to be a pretty useless breakdown and with a mix of denominated/non denominated (albeit authentic Paulsons) is not a good deal.

You’ll be able to find better deals for these or other Paulsons on here with a bit patience.

This. Way overpriced vs actual market value, especially for that breakdown.

You should be able to find those for around $4/chip on average (depending on denomination and condition).

Good luck

I think the same guy has them up for auction with no bids @ $1800 + Ship

But lists 320 chip, not 270.

Maybe not same guy buy many coincidences.

This price is $5.625 / chip if you save shipping. So not out of the ballpark vs $4 recommendation here.

Same guy?

I’d bet money the eBay seller is the same guy. His breakdown in the eBay listing adds ups to 270, but he wrote 320…

Many don't like those because of the 'PAULSON CHIPS' advertising mold. That definitely decreases the value of them. I'm not a fan of the mold. Though used to play in a league that was using the classics (same mold). No complaints from me if a host buys them. Especially if they're replacing dice chips. Arguably the worst mold ever created.

Pharoah sets come up constantly - here, on eBay, on Facebook, etc. There's no way to miss out on them, if that helps.
A little patience and you can get much better deals in actual playable denoms.

I don’t think anybody should be paying $7 a chip for those. My target price would probably be closer to half of that.
But I’d want to see more pictures, especially of the chips that are shrink wrapped. Because from this picture, those chips could be literally mint condition. And if they are, that’s worth something.

When did everyone start hating on Pharaohs?
Some of the best colors. And maybe the best inlay for the new gen fantasy Paulson chips,

But the non denomination is annoying, the Paulson mold has always been the least favorite among chippers, they are always overpriced, and they are not leaded.

I don't see anyone hating. The mold has always been unpopular and they go for $3.50-$4.00 a chip so this is just a bit of a crazy asking price. But that's been going around here lately with Pharaohs and Classics. Pharaohs are still a great set if they float your boat. I still have about 2200 of them with no plans of selling. Too much nostalgia for me being my first clay chips.

I didn’t know the Paulson house mold Chips came in the type of packaging those are in. Was that typical?

edit: just that packaging alone makes me a skeptic of authenticity.

Personally I like the national set better but they are all hard to find now

I was thinking the same thing - I didn’t think Paulson’s ever came packaged like that either..

Probably just shrink wrapped by seller. $7 a chip isn’t terrible. Id try to negotiate down to $5ea though

It’s the (ugly) mold

I have some conflicting feelings since I do like the look of most of the sets apart from the mold. The NPS set is awesome and the JB 2005 was my first ever real set.

And while the ”Paulson chips” thing looks tacky, the feel of the mold is top notch and they are a delight to handle and shuffle.

100%. Paulson Mold chips stack like absolute bricks. They’re not the prettiest mold, but they’re lovely to handle.
