Are Monaco and Empire card room chips made from Tina? (1 Viewer)

I haven’t bought any chips from Justin’s group buy but I have bought some sample chips from Apachepoker. Are these the same chip material as Justin’s group buys from Tina? Thank you in advance!

I believe so. Monaco are tinas, and I think Empires are. Empires could be Sunflys, but I don't think so. Like 80% sure they are tina. 100% on Monaco. The Mirage tributes are also tinas.

The Empires are just the Tina knock-off of the Sunfly cards mold. Not a chance they’re actual Sunflys at the price they’re offered for.

Wonderful! Glad to hear that they are holding up, sincerely.

The ones we had got played once a week for a year and were toast.

How often do yours get played roughly?

Cool. They will definitely see less wear than the set I had. Almost every chip got felted weekly.

I’ll check back in here in 2028 and see how yours match up. Just please make sure to get them felted once a month.

Building my first serious Majestic set and looking for feedback on denomination breakdowns.


Main games:

• 25¢/50¢ cash games ($20–50 buy ins)
• occasional 10¢/20¢ games with $10 buy ins
• 8–10 players

I also want enough versatility for:

• home play blackjack with antes
• casino night style games
• and a few higher denomination chips just for fun/high limit vibes.

My current thought was around a 800–1000 chip set using:
50c, $5, $25, $100, $500, $1000, and some $5000 chips for high limit fun.


I scale denominations down:

• $5 chip = 5¢
• $25 chip = 25¢
• $100 chip = $1
• $500 chip = $5
• $1000 chip = $10

Should the $100 chips be my main workhorse denomination over the $25s?


Would love recommendations from people who’ve built versatile mixed-use sets before.

Once a week for a year is 52 times, that's way to short of a time period for your chips to be toast, I would expect much more life from my chips. I've seen Chipco's that spent several years in a casino that never warped.

I made that comment mainly in sarcastic good fun, because I helped get the 39mm Web mold designed with Tina. And I did the first cards mold group buy after an ISSUE occurred, over 100,000 chips.
They're a business they're not going to say thanks.

Scaling down is great. Its basically like playing with Japanese Yen. Remove the decimal and its in the neighborhood of USD.

Anyways, with this, no 1s or fracs needed. 5s will be only used for blinds in your lowest stakes game while 25s will be your workhorse. In you 25c-50c games your 100 will be the workhorse but expect 500s to hit regularly. Both workhorses will need good quantity.

My experience with Tina's has been all over the place, the no mold seems to warp worse than the others, I have a card mold loaner set that gets used weekly, if not more often, and they're great, but, when I added on the be chips were slightly thinner. The hybrid Sunset Beach set seems great, so far, but it doesn't get used much. I guess I could summarize by saying Tina's have been very inconsistent, with spotty quality. However, they do a good job at their price point. The Chipco's and then BR Pro's, have performed very well, but, your going to pay 35% more.

By warp, does that mean the chips bend over time?

@SkyBlue yes, that's where the term spinners comes from (at least poker related). Stacks become unsteady because of the warped chips. Probability not visible to the naked eye, but, you can spin chips that are stacked atop each other.
