Hi all, new to the forum but love what I've seen so far. A lot of great info here. I played a lot of poker about 10 years ago but not all that much in the last few years. The kids are finally at the age where I can get back into it a bit. I'm already refreshing my table so now I'm thinking about my chip situation.

The question I have is, are the Rounders chips worth the money? I've always wanted a casino quality clay set and, since I love the movie, having some Teddy KGB replicas seems way cooler to me than any custom version I can come up with. I currently have a 1400 chip set of Venerati's that can support any cash game or tournament I'd be hosting, so I'm not desperate. They are great chips but, I do like change and have always wanted something more authentic.

So, from those who have clays, is it worth biting the bullet and jumping up to the Rounders? Do the CPC chips have the authentic feel of casino chips? I did order a sample that should be here next week but would still love to hear from some folks who have the Rounders chips or others from CPC. I attached a pic of my current setup.

Thanks all!

I think they are definitely worth the investment. They do feel weird being brand new but once they get broken in they are well worth the money. Unlike Paulsons or TRKs and chips like that, they don’t resell well, that’s probably the only downside.

Thanks @TKEUofM! Glad to hear they break in well. Do you have a separate tourney/cash game set? My cash game would be fairly small for now, so would only need up to $25’s in most cases. So was thinking about getting a full cash/tourney set since there isn’t a lot of worry for crossover since most of the tourney play will be $100 and up.

Thanks @Sneakygreek…good to know about the resale. I’d hope these will be my last set, but I thought the same thing about the Veneratis…ha!

Now I’m really looking forward to getting my samples. Thanks again for the info!

100% yes.

CPC's are casino quality as they are used in casinos (albeit smaller ones) and have done so historically as well, back when they were ASM-Maine.

They do feel and sound different than Pauslon chips, but they are very good.

I have >10,000 ASM/CPC chips in my arsenal, mostly customs, but I had to get the Rounders chips when they were made available. Totally worth it, and they will be a lifetime investment that you will get to play with and hand down.

Not only are they true casino chips, they are made by the company that made the chips for the film. The inlay is EXACT as in the film, the only difference is the mold, which was a change that was necessary to fulfill the agreement with the movie company.
I love the feel of them.

I feel they are well worth the money. Makes the game much better when using casino grade chips. Plus the association most people have with the movie makes it better. I was able to find a set on eBay for way less than CPC, but I have gotten my higher denominations from CPC. I had a set like yours a while back and even ordered the archetypes a while back, but they just don't compete with the rounders CPCs. Once you get the samples, you will want them.

I wish I had a time machine to go back and put my order in for that dealer button.
I bet if you put a wanted ad in the classified section, one would pop up.
edit: oops, too late  :ROFLMAO:

There’s also the buttons I designed with the KGB Bear in Russian and English, as well as the Teddy and Matt Damon chips from other group buys. They’ll likely be offered again.

I wish they were offered on the small crown mold and I'd jump in a heartbeat.

Damn it...you guys sure aren't helping my bank account!  But I think you've all sold me on them! I love the movie, so I can't think of a better set to invest in. And yes, that is a badass dealer button! Doesn't look quite as tasty as KGB's Oreo's though! I'm assuming from the comments, they are no longer available??

Thanks again for all the pics and comments. CPC thanks you too because they are about to get a sale!

Group buy?
I would think you could get them by just placing an order with CPC. You'll wait until the mold comes around again, and pay the regular price based on edgespots, but it should be able to happen.
I know there's multiple members that had different denominations made for their sets, like alternate $5,000 chips.

I was thinking to get a cheaper price, but that may not be possible. \_(ツ)_/¯

That being said, absolutely 100% totally worth it. Although nothing can beat your own custom theme IMO.

It would be really cool to have my own custom set, but I'm just not all that creative when it comes to this stuff. I have a feeling I'd end up getting something, paying more for it, and just wishing I had gotten the classic rounders.

That said, it has been fun to play with the custom chip designer so maybe I'll get lucky and come up with something cool! Either way, looks like I can't go wrong with some CPC's, so I'm glad I started the thread. It's been very helpful.
