That's why there are slight variations for the sake of variety, still serious and playable NL.Holdem is great. Just don’t want to play it EVERY time I sit down to play poker.

We split the cards after the flop. Has really increased the action. Lazy sounds like even more action. Is Lazy SHESHE Inspiration or insanity? Opinions differ…:
Players are dealt 5 cards. Standard pot-limit betting, no card splitting. Best 2 card hand wins half the pot. Best 3 card hand wins the other half.
It's all kink all the time at a @CraigT78 production. So at DiD how much furry kink will there be vs cheese pizza?
Circus games (and most mixed) should be played at limit. Or at most half pot limit. And then some idiots like myself play them at pot limit. Are any circus games played fixed limit? I would think that would be more civilized. The one big meet-up that I played, everything was pot limit. So it was very often pot, pot, pot, and somebody got felted pretty much every other hand. And that was fun, but we were playing more mixed-type games than circus games. So yeah, the thrill of winning 1,000 big blinds if you scooped was cool, but you kinda had an idea where you stood.
Cheese pizza is only allowed in the alley. So at DiD how much furry kink will there be vs cheese pizza?
"Forcing me" is a tad of a stretch. The state says I can't leave until the youngest graduates High School. It's all kink all the time at a @CraigT78 production.
Why do you think they are forcing him to move out of Texas?
Because after enough time, it becomes formulaic. Especially tournament poker. Once you've experienced the 1000:1 beat, delivered the 1000:1 suckout, and everything in between countless times, it just loses it's appeal.
Spend the next year learning Omaha, O8, Stud/8, etc. and you'll find that from a hand-reading standpoint, NLHE is like if Euphoria were on network TV.Never found Holdem to be formulaic or solvable.
I learned how to play almost all the games long ago. Played them a few times at other people games.Spend the next year learning Omaha, O8, Stud/8, etc. and you'll find that from a hand-reading standpoint, NLHE is like if Euphoria were on network TV.
Increased variance ≠ reduced skill. But a game where a player can go all in at any point in the hand, thereby absolving themselves of the pressure of navigating future streets, is inherently less complex than one where difficult decisions are forced all the way to showdown.
That is mathematical fact. The swings are also much much more….Omaha based games especially. They increase the luck factor and decrease the skill factor.
This. Learning Omaha and O8 improved my NLHE game significantly.AY. the next year learning Omaha, O8, Stud/8, etc. and you'll find that from a hand-reading standpoint, NLHE is like if Euphoria were on network TV.
%#%# you, buddy! Now I've got to go home this evening and have a, um, potentially very uncomfortable discussion with my wife. What if she was wearing a different outfit, like perhaps the mascot from Buc-ees ready to dole out some southern justice? Would that do it for you? LOL

All the other games do is add more variance.
I also didn’t say variance.

That's the allure of games that aren't 'solved'. Plus, the more cards you're dealt the more playable hands you get... which keep you engaged. Folding 4 out of every 5 hands you're dealt sucks balls.

Is that what it is? Normal poker games no longer excite you, so you have to play freaky games with crazy names and crazier rules?
I guess it’s possible I’m the one who’s missing out, because I’ve never been dealt a hand of bum-bum or scrotum. But then again, I don’t need to boink the neighbor’s wife wearing a bunny costume, to know it’s not for me.
Isn't it possible to enjoy both? Sometimes you get bored with missionary and simply want to mix it up.

Meh, I enjoy all of them. Changing priorities and strategies keeps it interesting. I can do well in Hold'Em and I can do well in Scarney. Mastering more games is always impressive to me. We can treat them dismissively and say there's too much variance but there are ways to play them all well. I royally screwed my hand in Veronica at PHL last year and still think about it, the draw and split pot natures make everything interesting. Love it.
Plus, if you want to be profitable you gotta ride the lightning! Lots of money to be made catering to nutcases who just want to gamble and think that there's no point in folding pre-flop in Scarney!
All that being said, I now understand Chicago is not loved by either side. They show up to the swinger orgy with buffalo wings.
They were two separate statements he combined into one
