Apache 3800 Faux Pelican Case (Harbor Freight) - Now with photos! (2 Viewers)

Some LDW case pRon for everyone!

Apache 4800 case with 1000 chips and a poker card setup and two additional decks. Plenty of room for a dealer button when I get one that complements the set. Next step is to Plastidip the set up!

Still have room for two more racks stood up on their sides if needed.

I still need to plasti dip my foam but I’m pleased with my 600 chip cash game set, 2 sets of cards (1 poker, 1 bridge), dealer button, and my chip protector. Case is so good for the money

I have a Royals chip set for our tourney league. I just ordered 6 chico racks and will be getting my Apache case tomorrow. I'm pretty excited! Is the foam easy to cut/shape? I know I need to get some plastiDip spray as well.

Really easy. I used a plastic cut card

What Chaboudy said. Slow and steady though. It should be perforated but some of mine weren't and left a rip or 2. Can use a cut card or exacto knife to ensure even pick and pluck squares

I went today to pick up the a case. I opted for the 4800 because I liked the idea of 4 locks instead of just 2 to avoid spills. I'm clumsy enough as it is, a little extra security helps. I printed a coupon they had online and they scanned it without an issue for 25% off. It's a great deal!

I have been searching high and low not finding an answer. Anyone have any input on running 3 racks deep on a 3800? Seems to close and latch. Do you think it compresses top and bottom layers too much to be protective?

IMHO I think you'd have to cut out the bottom layer of foam to get three-high to fit - which would compromise some of the protective nature of the foam. I'd look at other options if you want a reliable carrier for over 800 chips.

I wouldn’t go 3 deep. But you could stay two deep with 4 across. Keep in mind that would limit space for cards and/or a button if you wanted those in the case too.

Edit: Or just size up to the 4800.

Get the 4800 if you want to hold more chips. While you still can't go 3 tall you can go wider.

The 4800 holds 800 chips with room for two sets of cards and dealer buttons and still left over room. I could get another 400 chips in there.

The 4800 fits 1000 chips comfortably with plenty of room for two double card deck sets and buttons.

I'm going to finalize my configuration and plastidip the foam this week. I'm hoping that turns out well, but in case it doesn't does any one here have suggestions on replacement foam? :)

Ok this is how I’m going to set it up. I’ll try this for a few games before I plasticdip.

Set up is for a 1/2 game. Lower denoms on top with some higher denoms on bottom. Two racks will be hidden under the top foam. That set contains the 25s and 100s that will probably next be used. 1000 total chips.
220 - 1s
500 - 5s
240 - 25s
40 - 100s
