I'm creating this thread for anything relating to pool, billiards, snooker, whatever. I have nothing important to post at this time but I know there's a few of us on this forum who love cue sports, so this thread is for us and whoever else might like to contribute. Post whatever you want.

With that said.... GO

I've since gotten better lighting down here, but this is my table. Nothing special but gets the job done.

If you have a table in your home, it's special and I'm jealous lol. Do you know the make of that table?
I'm not 100% positive, but I do know it's a Chinese manufactured table. I didn't want to drop the extra grand at the time for an Olhausen or Brunswick table. It's crazy. I paid a little over 2K for that table four years ago, and in looking to try to answer your inquiry, the cheapest option, American or Chinese made, runs 3K now :wow:

No doubt tables are quite expensive, but should last a lifetime if maintained well. If I ever get a home with the space I'd love to get a Diamond or Rasson.

Great thread. From about 96-06 I owned an 8ft Olhausen with leather drop pockets and an inch of slate topped with beautiful midnight blue simonis cloth.
Had a nice set of Brunswick Centennial’s and a couple of Meucci cues, I think I still have one of them.
Just like fast cars, jet skis and beautiful houses on lakes, all those things go bye bye at a discount when you get a divorce. :ROFLMAO:
I’ll still race to 5 for $100 a game with anybody. ;)

Maybe someday we'll get to play, you can spot me the 7 ;)

I used to play a Lot. Got pretty good at one point - a little 8 ball but mostly 9. One day a guy who was watching me run a few tables made a comment that has stuck with me since - he said, "you know, being good at pool is a sign of a wasted youth." Talk about a buzz killer! lol Ever since then, I pretty much stopped playing - still have my cue and glove but they haven't seen the light of day/night for a few decades - and went on to waste my youth in other areas/hobbies/etc... haha I would love to own a table - didn't have the money when I was younger, don't have the room right now (and I probably wouldn't get much sleep if I did). Hopefully, if/when we move into or build our forever home, I'll be able to include one in a nice man cave...

i used to always say when i bought a house, i would buy a pool table before i bought a bed. then i didn't. :(
When I bought my first home in 96, I literally purchased my table within the first two weeks after closing. I thought having a mortgage payment and all the other expenses associated with a house would put the clamps on my regular pool hall visits at the time.
My basement became many peoples favorite hangout after work and on weekends. It wasn’t too long after the pool table that a poker table showed up in the basement as well.
Pool and degeneracy are a match made in heaven. ;) :ROFLMAO:

Wow, ok, that really is a buzz kill. Depends how you look at it but I think there is some truth to what that man said to you. I've often thought the very same thing actually, like if I had to do it all over again would I spend 30-60hrs a week in a pool hall? For me the answer is probably yes. I really regret taking the past 10 years off of pool, actually. Having a steady girl now and other life things doesn't give me the amount of time I would want or need to really improve my game, gamble more, play more tournaments, travel. Still, I'm getting out when I can now and it feels great.

There’s always another train coming and never try to be anything your not. ;) I had a perfect marriage for about 10 years, till I didn’t.

Ok, had to do a little digging but I knew these old photos existed somewhere. I want to say this is about 1979 and the beginnings of my degeneracy. :ROFLMAO: Hope it provides a good laugh. A little pool in grandmas front yard. View attachment 917000
