Sitting Out
Hello All,
I recently have been getting into poker chips and have a set of ABS Slug no-denom chips, I just recently began working on fixing up a barrington table with my dad and got a game out of it recently with some friends at my college (Pic Below). Really proud and loved how it turned out
. I got some quad color cards from copag for new players to help identify flush draws and suited hands as well. The guys love this, talking playing poker, and since it's microstakes "it feels good when you win, and not too bad when you lose" - Chris Manzoni on youtube. All the games I've played have been great but there's only one seemingly problem though, I get asked by new players or people who we are just introducing to the game.. "How much is this chip worth?" "How much is that?" etc. This'll not only help the new players in my game but hopefully keep them coming back because it was easy to learn. Right now I have around 6-8 players sometimes upwards of 10! Which is amazing, but the only problem is I don't have bank nor the chip quantity to suffice 10 players when there are rebuys. Which unfortunately leads to some people having to sit out (which is not a fun feeling as the host).
Anyways enough back story, let's get into what I'm looking for, we currently play .10/.20 which is what my games are used to but I'm looking to change to a .05/.10 game because I've learned people in my game love punting their stack
so a bigger bank would be nice and want them to start learning to raise pre-flop when you have a premium instead of limping/calling the big blind every time(countless bad beats have happened this way lol).
So I'm looking for a bright and colorful micro-stakes set, preferably not too expensive prefer not too much higher than .55 a chip but a little higher won't make me turn my head (trust me if I had the money I'd go with CPC or another premium chip). That being said if any of you chippers have an old set collecting dust that doesn't get played much and would love for it to be felted every week, please let me know. It'd go not only to the future players of poker but a great community as well. I also would love my players to say "These chips are nice" even when there is so much better out there. No better feeling in my opinion.
With all that mumbo jumbo out of the way, I'd honestly prefer:
-Denoms listed on chip
-Bright/colorful (if edge marks, then aligned)
-No preference on material
-Nice looking inlay/label
Other than that, I don't mind anything else!
Action shot!
Two pocket pairs of the same kind on the first table use, was funny.
Both of us tried bluffing the Ace King.
