Hey guys!

I am looking to host more high quality games in my area and so I bought a used table off facebook marketplace last summer. I cleaned it up best I could and bought cupholders off of Amazon, but they are not the best fit.

I am planning on solely dealing and banking and it is definitely doable but a bit hard with the cups restricting my arms. The cupholders are 2 inches and they still stick up so not sure how to best go about this haha.

Also, if I am looking to get racks/holders for my chips, would it be best to get a holder and put it in front of me on the table or get racks and leave them behind me?

I would greatly appreciate any advice and help anyone is willing to offer! Thanks!

Hole saw to cut circles so your cup holders can sit on the armrest. Maybe cut a dealer chip tray cutout so that it can sit flush with the surface.

Drill + hole saw
Jigsaw / Circular saw

If that's the large cup holders like these, a 3 5/8" hole saw will be perfect.
Resist the urge to buy a really cheap hole saw, it may not work well. Lenox makes great hole saws, but they can be pricey and you may need to buy a separate arbor for it.

If you're not going to do the cut out for a dealer tray then i would recommend the chip rack behind you and off the table. Saves any issues from being knocked over, cards getting underneath, etc. Just safer.

Probably fodder for a separate thread, but is the convenience of having the chip tray right in front of you worth the inconvenience of having the chip tray right in front of you, as a player/dealer? I can’t imagine it is.

Thanks for the help guys! Ordered some shallow cups and see if that works before committing to drilling/sawing. I may be moving with limited ability to keep many things so the investment into tools may not be wise at the moment.

Hmm yeah I agree I did not realize most chip tray cutouts are accounted with a curve for more room on the dealer side of the table. I think it may be more wise to have the chips behind me for the time being.

If you want shallow cup holders, I would post a want ad in the classifieds...with so many Barrington table owners ditching their shallow cups for deep ones, there's got to be a number of folks with the shallow ones lying around.

You want the deeper cupholders. At least once a night a beer doesn't spill on the table that would have if not for the extra deep cupholders I installed. It's 100% worth the effort.

There's a thread somewhere on here about Barrington table modifications. Look it up. The process should be the same.

Tchan Felts as someone said before. I dont know why but tables with out betting lines bother me... but just my preference...

If you really want to go wild add a shuffler. 😀

Are you planning on playing as well as dealing and banking? If yes, I would skip the dealer tray for sure.

Yes, I was planning on primarily dealing and banking, with occasionally playing if the table is running small. Why is it that the dealer tray is not necessary if I am doing all three or just two?
