A Raised Rail Build - Double Ring Design? [March ...delayed] (1 Viewer)

May I ask which jig you're using to cut your arcs, @justsomedude? Thanks!

Sure thing!

I used a 3D printed jig made by 3D3P/@One Eyed Dollar. Here's the link to the product in his store, or you can send him a PM. This one is designed specifically for a Bosch router, but he could probably tweak it to fit whatever model router you have, so long as it has slots for guide rods.

Updated the rail detail with a more accurate depiction of dimensions (for the spacer rails), and placement of screws/bolts for final assembly. Although the nuts represent threaded inserts that will go in top surfaces (not bottom surfaces as shown)...

Please show more pics when adding threaded inserts! Thanks :)

Still clamping.

Last piece of banding goes on today. After 24 hours of cure time, I can start making some more noticeable progress...

I didn’t for my first build. For this one I did, just because it’s a different design and I didn’t want to screw it up.
What’s a photographer doing with CAD?

BTW if you ever have any CAD questions, just ask.

Lots done today! And a first beer test with cupholders.

The to-do list keeps getting smaller.... Next up, banding on the main/table edge, gluing/clamping the cup holder rings, and cutting out the mortises for the handles.

After that, it’s on to upholstery!
