Hey everyone, I'm sure this has been addressed before, but I'm hosting a 2 table tournament and need some advice for the structure. Below are what I'm thinking, please critique:

$50 buy-in, re-buys up to the first Break
$40 main pool + $10 bounty
14 Players
Top 4 or 5 get paid, open to suggestions.
Starting Stack - 10k
25/50 - 24 mins
50/100 - 24
75/150 - 24
125/250 - 22 - Break & color up
200/400 - 22
300/600 - 22
500/1000 - 20
500/1500 - 20 - 2nd Break & CU @ 9 players
1000/2500 - 20
2000/4000- 18
3000/6000 - 18 - Likely tournament end
5000/10000 - 18
5000/15000 - 18
10000/20000 - 18

Thanks!

The slight changing of time between levels is a bit odd, but the increases are all fine, though the projected end was a level too early. I reworked it slightly and provided a second structure if you wanted something different, each ending at around the 4 hour mark (though breaks have to be cut to 10 minutes each).

I think I like the 18 min structure. The only downside is keeping the 100s on the table that much longer for the 12/24 level. It's really only one level longer than my original structure. I'll give it a try. This is my 3rd 2TT this year and still trying to dial in the structure.

Do you have any thoughts on paying out 4 or 5?

Update from last night's tournament. We used the 1000/2500 in my original schedule with 18 min levels. 13 players, 2 rebuys. Lasted about 3:15 @ 2000/4000.

Everything worked well. However, one of the rebuys, we allowed as an add-on at the first break. He has 1,500 left, going into the 200/400 level, so we let him have a "bounty-less rebuy". I'll likely make this a normal thing, but limit it to stacks of XX% of the starting stack. Maybe 30%? Or 50%? Thoughts on this?

I have heard from the group about not liking general add-ons available to everyone, but I like the idea of still building the pool even if people haven't busted before the break.

I'd go with 20-minute levels, typically adding about 15 extra minutes but somewhat ensuring that each blind level still lasts an entire orbit once tables combine.

Set a hard stop on re-buys after the 125/250 blind level, and allow players to surrender their current stack instead of only allowing re-buys when busted.

If re-buys cost $40 for 10k chips, then offer an optional add-on (after re-buys end) of either 6k chips for $20 or 3k chips for $10. Slight discount for add-on chips since they are worth less (in big blinds) than the chips in an initial starting stack.
