You could do Mario $5, link/legend of Zelda $25 and a Wario yellow frac.

I'm out of ideas after that lol

Pacman, Frogger, galaga, donkey Kong/Mario bro’s/SMB, Legend of Zelda, etc. early 8 bit stuff.

If this got done at some point, in your mind is CPC the best route?

What are the other options?

I’m sorry,I didn’t read the full thread. I just saw custom theme and voting.
Ceramics, Paulson relabels, CPC is more easily customizable. Maybe royals 43mm but I feel like that's just not as exciting

Question for whomever, but particularly @Psypher1000 @wonderpuddle @timinater @ReallyGoodUsername @Davism72 and whoever else voted for 80s/90s/retro games.
What do you think best works for this concept, as far as the relable THCs/solids/CPC/etc. route?

Red = Mario and Green = Zelda (or Frogger) makes sense. Yellow needs to be Pac Man. Blue could be Sonic. Orange could be Q*bert. Donkey Kong needs to be in there somewhere. Others to choose from: Centipede, Dragon's Lair (Dirk the Daring clutching Princess Daphne, maybe?), Galaga.

I voted for something I hadn't really seen before. Love this idea:
Pacman, Frogger, galaga, donkey Kong/Mario bro’s/SMB, Legend of Zelda, etc. early 8 bit stuff.
I'd be tempted to do a ceramic set so you can carry the 8bit theme all the way through, but you couldn't go wrong with CPC.

A Mario Kart 64 themed set would be amazing. Dibs on a rainbow road sample chip.

Anyone can toss in an idea ?
May I add mine : each denom with an historical Casino we all love for their chips ?

Set "Las Vegas memories"
  • Bourbon Street $0.25
  • Dunes $1
  • El Rancho $2
  • Fitzgeralds $5
  • The Mint $10
  • New Frontier $25
  • Sands $100
  • Stardust $500
    etc...
For each one the design is almost the same, we just change it with the casino name font + silhouette
Wow very pleased to see that one this up in the pool !

Top two options definitely seem to be alcohol related, and location or Vegas related. Out of all the Vegas/old school/location themes mentioned, I’d be hoping for this one to win out.

Maybe it could even be done on spotted house molds? Gotta imagine it’s pretty hard to get very good condition to mint racks of house molds from back in the day....

edit: nice name/pic. Always played as nets with Keith van Horn and Kerry Kittles or Suns with Kidd and Antonio Mcdyess on courtside with Kobe Bryant.

If you end up going a souther Jazz route, making a chip for the Preservation Jazz Hall in New Orleans is a great historical jazz theme. The preservation Jazz Hall band plays all over and are awesome and play classic New Orleans Jazz

Damn clicked on moulin rouge before I realized we could vote for more than 1. That extra vote for my own would have it tied up!

And so he died on his own cross, having never voted for himself...:banghead:

@BarrieJ3, I know its too late for this one, but I just thought of this while walking the dog last night. "The Chop House" tourney set with a caricature of a guy sitting at a table, gradually getting more frazzled as the denoms go up. the T25,000 would be him asleep at the table or something.

Man this is actually pretty hilarious. I think the Chop House itself is pretty smart, I'm surprised we haven't seen one yet. The whole concept is hilarious, I think this would be pretty fantastic on ceramics.

I'm actually going to update this with next steps tonight so we can get a move on, and hopefully everyone designing or helping pick out chips for purchase shortly!

Is this still a thing?

update??
It continued on in another thread so not to get too convoluted. Eventually fell apart. I was reaching out and pming and had some good conversations going, but ultimately there just wasn’t enough involvement.

Basically just turned into a 2-4 man thing, and really am only willing to pony up the couple grand it might cost if it was a PCF effort.
