Someone stole my cars wheel at Tampa Hard Rock (2 Viewers)

I have so many questions. Did they put the tire on their car? Did the tire they put on yours come from their car? If so, how does someone drive 3 17" and one 19" rims? Did they let you see the footage? Where was the car stolen from? Does Santa really exist?

The 17" they gave me fit my car and I drove on it for a couple days. My tire obv fit their car

I have been home sick with the plague all week, so I have not seen footage, just spoke with the officer on the phone.

I was told the car was stolen from another county, but we have multiple counties nearby easily accessible, not sure which one it was

Told me I would have to call Monday to speak with the detectives
 
This still needs like 673 more crazy twists before it can even start to be a contender for “Local Florida Man” story on the local Six O’clock News.

Like: the car was stolen by two octogenarians and a Belgian wearing duck costumes, who were yodeling Romanian drinking songs while pelting bystanders with Piggly Wiggly weekly circulars and day-old funnel cakes, and who left a bag full of bat guano and a tricycle at the scene of the crime.

Darn thought I read the car was stolen from a different *country*. Hope they catch the guy and you get your tire back!

Florida no fault law applies to personal injury, not vehicular damage. If you got his info and/or filed a police report, you can file a claim. The truck driver's insurance will pay if they find he was at fault.

Been there, done that recently when my wife was in a parking lot fender bender.

That was in response to gopher saying I could "gin up an insurance claim" which I took to mean faking an injury lol

While he was illegally parked, I had the greater responsibility as the one in motion. I'm out a 1k deductible plus 250 in rental and I deserve it, I was at fault

Understood, I read it as just file a claim but you were closer to what "gin up" means. Words are hard.

My wife had a low speed collision in a parking lot a few months ago. They were amiable, both said "no fault" and exchanged information.

A couple days later, our insurance company contacted us to let us know that the other driver had filed a claim directly against our policy. They investigated, and based largely on he said she said, paid out the claim. I was pissed.

In 20 years in the insurance industry, I have never heard these words... I can't comprehend their meaning.

That's what I told my wife after this fiasco.

Before this we had a combined total of four accidents over 30+ years of driving each - three times the police were called, and in the fourth one there was literally zero damage to the tank I was driving, and the other guy (whose rust bucket Beetle was destroyed) practically begged me not to report it. I presumed he was broke and likely uninsured, and I cut him a break.
