Poker Chips in Movies – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (2 Viewers)

I didn't recall Teddy have $500's in his stack... I remembered it as all hundos.... Had to rewatch the scene to confirm.

That's super cool.
I didn't remember either, but sure enough. Those look like $500s in the back.

I recently saw 21 for the first time (though it's ten years old) and saw lots of good chips in there - I think they used some real casino chips, though not sure if they were live, and I distinctly remember seeing some Paulson fantasy chips at one point. The definitely didn't cheap out on the chips for that movie.

And of course the recent The House movie used those Wynn charity chips

Holy fùckity fûck.

Can’t get a good picture, but I think Rain Man was shot in Ceasars palace. It looked like their house mold.

The Rainman black jack scene used the Star Inlay hundos. Yeah they shot it inside Caesars using real chipes. The dealer in the movie was a real Caesar's dealer, too. I remember recognizing him at Caesar's a few years after the movie came out.

When I got married in Vegas in 1993 the dealer from the movie dealt blackjack to my wife and I for about an hour. What a trip.

Any guess? They actually didn’t sound like the metal clang of slugged chips.

Best I could do with a picture.

If recollection serves, 21 used decent chips, at least in some of their scenes...
Nothing like bringing up a 2 year old post! So Brie and were watching 21 about a week ago. They are using over labeled 05 CDIs and WTHC chips... in the scene where they finally get Kevin Dpacey to play again and the chips are flying around, you can clearly see one didn't get a label over and it's a regular old WTHC $5000 silver chip!! Would have never caught that before PCF...had to rewind and show it to Brie! Haha the Scrub Donkey Life!

Will get better ones but wife was laughing at me for taking pictures of the TV

Oops. I didn’t realize even the pictures in your post afterward were from the scene, lol.

Wrong colors plus there is the (faux) house mold. Thinking they might be ceramic.
The two front $25's seem to show some spot splitting. Gotta be compressed clay - Paulson?

EDIT: Of course the only close-up totally looks like a ceramic. Nevermind.

I know its an old thread but I started watching Lie to Me again on Amazon prime

That's a real mix of stuff in there. I can see some Langworthy/RT Plastics for sure. Same chips inlaid and hot stamped. It would be nice if production designers took gambling scenes a little more seriously.
