Game of Thrones (HBO Series - NO BOOK SPOILERS) (4 Viewers)

I agree but having her kill Dany and the NK seems pretty crazy to me.
Everything seems crazy to me right now and I’m not making any predictions on what might make sense because the show runners have been so good at “surprising” me with the decisions they make.

I don't think anybody kills Daenerys. If they did, they'd have to contend with the 2 armies and a dragon afterwards; none of which would support the person(s) responsible for her murder.

arya stark seems pretty indestructible. I'm pretty sure she could handle the dragon and both armies with one hand tied behind her back.

...Jon is in final confrontation with Daenerys, she is screaming at him and threatening to kill him. Daenerys summons Drogon who enters again from the darkness.
Before she can do anything else, Jon whispers, "Dracarys" and Daenerys goes up in flames. Arya peels off Drogon mask - end credits.....

Internet loses it's mind after lazy production ignores the Starbucks cup, Jaimie's hand growing back, and Daenery's immunity to fire.

Would be hard to fix such a travesty of an episode but here goes. A simple fling of the magic writers pen can serve to make things a bit more plausible:

1) 1 dragon versus fleet:
There’s this thing that occurs on the ocean occasionally called “fog”. Dany takes advantage of a low level morning fog bank that has engulfed Euron’s fleet to achieve complete surprise. Bits of the highest masts poke through the fog to help Dany id her targets.

2) Dragonfire vs strong stone buildings:
Fire doesn’t knock down any stone buildings. Any wood structure or other burnables inside rage with uncontrollable fire. Cersei flees the red keep to avoid burning alive as jets of dragon breath surge through windows.

3) Euron doesn’t find jaime. He is killed in the dragon attack on the fleet. Jaime finds a half asphyxiated Cersei and gets crushed as wooden beams collapse given the out of control fires on the upper levels.

4) Dany’s accellerated descent into madness:
Can’t really work with this as is. The best solution might be to add another episode between 4 and 5 and set up her decline in a little less forced of a way. Maybe Varys’s and his people come a hair away from successfully assassinating her? Perhaps we see a sadistic side of Varys as he has her forcibly taken from her room as she sleeps and spirited to some hidden chamber within Dragonstone? She’s ultimately saved but whatever Varys does/says combined with all the other recent emotional traumas serves to trigger her to go into shock and go mad. Varys is still burninated as a result.

I hope but....

The series is almost finished. What TV show are we going to argue about when it’s over?

Sneaky Pete is sneaky good. But maybe there’s not enough to argue about. And it may not get renewed for a fourth season.

Billions, maybe? Written by the guy who penned Rounders...

I just read a "news" story that some mothers who named their daughters, Khaleesi, are upset by her going full Berserker in Episode 5. Maybe you shouldn't name your child after someone whose story is incomplete...fictional or real?
My nephew Lommy Greenhands would agree...

3500 in America apparently

My prediction: Arya kills Dany, defending Jon. Jon becomes king, marries Sansa.

Jon and Sansa are still first cousins. I don't think they'll hook up.

Dany is now evil and has to die.

I think Dany kills Tyrion
John objects and is eventually killed by Dany
Arya kills Dany - have to use the face change one more time
Sansa runs shit

That's why the last episode was so frustrating. It would have been easy to fix some of this stuff.

Dragon attacks at night to wipe out the fleet and burn the scorpions off the wall. Burn the gate down the next day leading the attack.

Boom - good, plausible ways for the defeat of the scorpions and the gate to be opened.

How about:

  • Tyrion spirited away to Pentos by Davos. Becomes proprietor of gambling establishment. Invents colorful clay gaming chips and revolutionizes the industry. Davos is Tyrion's chief muscle/security.
  • An insane and jealous Dany kills Jon
  • Aria kills Dany out of rage.
  • Jaquen Hagar appears and forcibly remands Aria back to the house of black and white for upsetting the faceless god's balance by killing so many.
  • Grey Worm and any remaining unsullied return across the sea, never to be heard from again.
  • With King's Landing destroyed there IS NO Iron Throne and Sansa rules as Queen of the North. Brienne serves Sansa into her 90's.
  • Sam and Gilly raise about 50 kids.
  • Ser Bronn searches fruitlessly for Tyrion in effort to collect on his promise to Rule Highgarden.

If this season has showed us anything it is dissatisfaction. If that lines carries through, I think we may find the last episode to be unsatisfying/underwhelming.

  • Ser Bronn searches fruitlessly for Tyrion in effort to collect on his promise to Rule Highgarden.

I do think Bronn is a wild card. He's the other main assassin on the board. I could see him taking out Dany to try to get Highgarden. Arya is so obvious that I could see the writers wanting someone else.

While I enjoyed the episode there were some major lazy writers still.

The boats. Wtf. Now the hundreds of scorpions are just useless. And all the guys manning the ones on the walls are just oblivious to the dragon behind them? No screaming or blowing up to let them know?

Wife and I both said why wouldn’t she attack the boats at night to create fear and kill them off without being seen. Then the next day hit the walls.

Arya. Why was she even in the episode? While I enjoyed her part visually. She served no purpose at all. Let’s walk into the red keep. Get all the way to the stairs. Then the hound is like “nah better not” she’s like “yeah good point, catch ya later”

They could’ve at least made the reason the split because of the red keep falling. Make it that they get split up or something. The whole scene of them splitting up just seemed so out of place.

Euron and Jamie fight was fucking useless. Like literally had no point in the story. Jamie dies anyway. Euron dies anyway. The fight between them is stupid. Let Euron burn to death on his boat. Let Jamie die however.

There’s other parts I’m not overly happy with but I can get on board with it. Walls blowing up I’m fine with. We haven’t seen a dragon attack a wall yet so who’s to say it doesn’t happen. Varys was hard done by but yeah so be it.

Really feel like this season should’ve been 2-3 episodes more but it is what it is. The last season feels so rushed.
