Here's my lone rack of Mapes with some other mixed TR King chips.

I need a few racks of Minty TRK $1s to get these guys into play more! They don't have to be Mapes $1s. By the way, I also do need a Mapes $1 and $100 for my sample set, if someone has a spare....

(the above is not a picture of @guinness stack at the latest DCS, which was damn close!)

Does anyone have a Mapes $100 and Mapes $1 that I could borrow for a potential project? I clearly have a Mapes $5 and $25 already. ;-) Will pay shipping, and can likely return in person at a meet-up near you (or mail back). Thanks!

Can someone explain what makes mapes so expensive and sought after?

I appreciate that the colours are pretty awesome, but I feel like I'm missing something. Is there a backstory to the casino?

TRKs
- All together different feel and look than Paulsons.

Tri Color Half Moons - Detail hard to find in Paulsons (Miccosukee and Terribles are the nuts though). Can not yet be truly made by CPC.

Historical Casino - Many of the top stars of it's heyday stayed/played there. The cast of The Misfits stayed there during production. The poker movie California Split had it's climactic poker game filmed there.

Vibrant Colors - TRK Color Pallete is just awesome

Limited Supply - While you can still find racks of $5s and maybe even some $25 singles...the $1s and $100s are becoming super scarce. Because of the coloring, half moons, and inlays.....the individual chips really look best together IMO.

@k9dr's set is the exception (again IMO) with the very cool TRK China Club hotstamps

WTF with that sick barrel of $500. (y)(y)(y)

Understood...but still cool to see inlays.

Not scrowns, though....

The show was shot in 1961. Hourglass was used at that time. The $1 scrowns were introduced shortly after the show was shot in 1964 with hIgher scrown denoms soon after.

For those that want to see scrowns. From the Motion Picture California Split 1974

Going to have to watch the film this weekend..those may not be scrown ones but the time frame of the movie is right for them.
