I have absolutely no use for this until I find players who would play limit mixed games, but my current fixation is a limit set - something so cool about the simplicity of 2-3 denoms in play and the ability to mix it up from just NL or PLO which can get stale.

To anyone who plays a limit mixed game, what games do you play and show me those sets!

Can someone very quickly and simply explain to my why limit sets need 1 million chips? I always see photos with stacks that have like 300-400 chips each person, I don't understand lol

I host a weekly spread limit mixed game. If the game has a card in the box of cards, we play it.

There is plenty of variation as it is. We don't need a big bet format to make the games exciting. Also easier to get someone to play an uncomfortable game with a limit format. Lots of people don't want to play for stacks when they don't know the rules.

I have used this set in the past:

But any set with 300+ working chips works fine. At the moment I am using this set:

for style points obviously

One of the reasons I either want to harvest some Paris $1s over time or order Tina’s, $2+ per chip adds up fast when you’re trying to get thousand lol

I can get my group to play limit on occasion. I have three sets that can support a limit game, with two having 1000 $1 chips (or "unit" chips for a larger game) and the third with 1200. When six or seven handed, I have yet to put all of those in play at the same time.

More than that, and the chip stacks become unmanageable and the "value holding chips" should be in use in stacks, but rarely used for betting action.

If there are that many chips actually in play, it's a table hosted by a PCF member, or someone with more "dollars then sense". :ROFLMAO:

Here's my NCV Arc Tiger Limit Set so we can play whatever limit we want.

Looks weird to me as well. For some reason, limit seems to attract hoarders for whom more is never enough. Game-wise, limit is best for games with low initial variance (ie PLO opposed to HE) where big preflop bets make little sense. Biggest drawback : it's more difficult to outplay opponents (e.g. make better hands fold), wins tend to follow card luck.

My favorite of my three limit sets. The other two are custom ASM/CPC, but this is the only one with plaques, and it's nice to be able to put those into play as a value "chip" whenever I can convince my group to play limit.

Sorry there are no "in play" photos. In the last year or so, the number of photos I've taken during my games have gone down, mostly because I haven't been able to host as often as I'd like. Hopefully that will chance in the hear future with my new job and schedule that should let me hot more often than I have been here as of late.
