Was at an event tonight and ordered a Whistle Pig 10 year Rye Old Fashioned.
1st bartender’s attempt was weak at best. Then I stepped to the other side and Eric knocked it out of the park with a couple of spritzes of Benedictine and some Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate bitters to top it off. He made me a slightly different version every time. All excellent!
Took a roadie to the hotel room.
Thankful for pro bartenders who care

Anyone tried JD 10 Year Batch 4?

It just became available here in Switzerland and I’m wondering if it’s worth picking up.

Does anybody know anything about Noah’s Mill 2024 batches vs 2020=2021 batches?

The last few I have were from 2022 and were fantastic (prior years (2019-2021) were not nearly as good).

Ref:
I did some sampling this weekend at one of my local stores. The owner is a great resource and has been doing private barrels with most of the distillers since before that was a thing. He gave the PSA that if you haven’t had any of the recent Noah’s Mill, you need to try it. Apparently for the past 4 years Willett has been using much younger and sourced juice, but recent batches are much older Willett. Look for something late 21 or 22, which should be readily available for under $60

I bought like 5 bottles of those 2022s so I haven't purchased a new one in a while lol, can't personally speak to 2024.
