Everyone has that one guy at the game that makes you unhappy at the least or insane at the worst. For me it is the guy that insists on explaining every hand, whether he is in the hand or not, like he is the second coming of Stu Unger and it his personal responsibility and life's mission to educate everyone else as if we have never played the game before. What is your pet peeve? Who makes you crazy?

Players not paying attention or more specifically paying attention to things that aren't the game.

I had a player that I dropped from my invite list because he was more interested in the value of his bitcoin at that very moment (multiple checks a night, BTW) or the big one, when he brought his laptop to the game and was doing coding work between hands.

Anybody who needs to be reminded more than once per session that the action is on them.
That is my pet peeve.

Its sad. Because those people are often the most starved for friendship. And those actions, or lack of action, make it difficult for others to truly engage.

Those are all tolerable.

I don't like it when players are rude to other players as that discourages people from coming back out.
I find poker to be a naturally selfish activity, and I think rudeness is often an accompaniment of that.

I wrote a normal monologue while pumping gas, but to keep it much more succinct:

Anyone that sits out a game - be it hold em, scarney, or tiddlywinks.
My monologue described the above as rude.

Such a dick move to watch a player describing their game, and in the middle of it a player says “eh don’t worry about it I’ll just fold pre”. I always feel bad for that person, especially if it’s like a 4-5 person mixed games table.

I certainly don’t like seeing this face at the table cause it usually means I lost. What do you think (@MatB?

Yeah, I can put up with most annoying behaviors because I spend a lot of time teaching new players, but I can't stand when anyone is rude/combative/angling. I don't mind being needled at the table, not a big deal, but if you're angling or berating someone else that's just an automatic cross off the invite list. Creates a bad environment and changes the atmosphere. Same with being rude to my wife; had a player who jokingly talked back to her about not wanting to end at the time we had agreed on, so we not-so-jokingly stopped calling him. He thought for a long time it was because I couldn't stomach losing (he had walked away with a $35 win, I somehow managed to accept the crushing blow) until I heard him saying that at a friend's place and let him know why he got the boot.

That shoehorns into the next point, just generally being a bad guest. I love hosting but my home is still a home, you're not at a casino and an invite is a privilege. You don't need to tip or bring something every time but if you're constantly whining about the food or the game or anything, I can't be bothered to keep you around.

I got my buddy from the golf course playing with us the last few months, and he rides to the games with his neighbor. Known them both for years ... but neither make it through an orbit without going outside to pull from their vape or a cig. I don't mind scooping their blinds, it's so damn annoying.

People that are moody when losing badly.
That’s a good sized chunk of the population. I’d guess more than half of the players get less chatty when they’re stuck, tilted, card dead.
Of that group, some are fine; they’re just taking a break from life of the party mode. But some of them go silent (except for their teeth grinding) as they wait for a hand. And then there are some people who get downright grumpy. We should all try to be the guy who’s fun at the table no matter what.

Also cash game guys who can’t wait for the tournament to end. Either play the tournament or don’t!

I alway thought that being seated between late (and obviously drank) Gavin Smith and Doug Polk would be nightmare.....
Also would avoid any table with Shaun Deeb, how to play against that guy is beyond me.!

Good thing you said not to name names….lol
I'm gonna name names....

Me!
Pot limit game players who always bet with, "Pot. How much is it?" If you are going to play pot limit games, learn how to calculate a pot bet.
Me again!
The guy that always spills…on the table…dang
Also me!

The “what did you have that hand?” Guy that keeps begging and guessing the hands u have every single time but too cheap to call river bets and plays one hand every two orbits.
