Several years ago, I had a wager with @Frogzilla. We each put up $1,000 - He would win if Biden failed to finish his term in office. I won otherwise. We know how the wager turned out. As requested, I am reporting what I did with my winnings.

A donation for the full amount was made to the Hays County Food Bank last month. Times are tight, the need is greater than the food bank can service. The total budget for the food bank is in excess of $2,000,000 per year. Sadly, this isn't enough to feed all the hungry people.

My contribution is of minimal help to the food bank, but every little bit helps. I encourage everyone who can help their local food bank to do so. You only need look at the line of people waiting for a box of rice, beans, pasta, peanut butter, canned goods and a dab of ground turkey to know that some people really could use a helping hand.

Worth mentioning just in case - given the option, food pantries generally prefer cash donations vs. food donations. They can buy way more with your dollar than you could at the store.

Great gesture, @DrStrange! My wife and I have donated our time to food banks over the years, and will now start showing our youngest one the humanity of aiding those who are down trodden. It also helps to donate any clothes or toys that your kids have outgrown.
