This has to be the first time in history that everyone unanimously takes the word of a car salesman
The only thing you take to the grave is your name! This has to be the first time in history that everyone unanimously takes the word of a car salesman
I think that’s a FB marketplace ad people are trying to buy from. Unrelated. Is this the same guy with the trop 100’s? Or is PCF under attack by multiple scammers?

well saidThere’s at least two of him.
One is a Christian poor working man raising orphans and can barely make it.
The other seems to be a high roller, buying and selling chips on behalf of celebrities and playing in some of the most exclusive venues.
Seems like there a third one that’s a scammer of sorts?
It’s kinda weird. Like it’s a community ID that’s used by multiple people.
I almost said “maybe that Irish guy was right about this place!” Wasn’t sure if we were in joking territory yet tho.Nobody show this thread to that guy from Ireland looking for cheap chips.
At this point my blood pressure is through the roof just seeing this shit, and I'm an independant third party. I needed a little relief not at the expense of anyone involved.I almost said “maybe that Irish guy was right about this place!” Wasn’t sure if we were in joking territory yet tho.
He could even reimburse a third party such as yourself and hold the money until it’s resolved. @SpaceMonkey420At this point my blood pressure is through the roof just seeing this shit, and I'm an independant third party. I needed a little relief not at the expense of anyone involved.
But IMO.. This thread can debate at length all it wants weight, packaging, sizing of chips.. but there's only one right action - and that's a full reimbursement from spacemonkey until this is sorted out between the two of them and the post.
It’s a great age old question though. At this point my blood pressure is through the roof just seeing this shit, and I'm an independant third party. I needed a little relief not at the expense of anyone involved.

Exactly why I immediately offered spacemonkey 50/50. As the buyer I’m willing to take some responsibility but it’s truly on the seller imho.As the seller, I would take responsibility 100%, and hope that buyer would opt to cover half.
As a buyer, I’d be sad and of course offer to cover half.
I’ve always thought it insane to think that a USPS employee could somehow target a valuable shipment and steal from it. Are they checking EVERY flat rate box to see if it’s worth stealing from?
And he said he went to a different post office 45 minutes away bc he doesn’t like his local office bc there has been theft…Also… How many postal employees even value playable sets of poker chips? Like maybe 1 in 25,000? If that? And if they mistakenly thought they were worth face value, 10 seconds on Google would tell them the casino closed.
Ya this is the smoking gun. Anyone who “values their integrity more than money” is refunding or picking a good 3rd party mediator right away to escrow/facilitate.At this point my blood pressure is through the roof just seeing this shit, and I'm an independant third party. I think there is more nuance to that in this hobby. And then there’s all the people that say “I drop off chips, and my responsibility ends” which is crazy.
But if the seller requests PPF&F UNLESS the buyer pays the difference for PPG&S and says their responsibility ends at the post office how can you fault the seller in an instance like this?I think there is more nuance to that in this hobby.
As an "international" chipper, when first starting out, I always chose my preferred postal carrier, paid for insurance and accepted any loss as a condition of sale as it was the only way I could get people to sell me stuff or reship internationally on my behalf.
Its still wild to me you all send thousands of dollars worth of chips through usps nonchalantly, raw dogging it with no insurance.
I get why people automatically think its on the seller to make the transaction whole because everyone is accustomed to the way businesses run these days with online shopping, if they didnt do it that way then no one would have the confidence to buy things online if they had to accept the risk but this is a hobby and a transaction between two individuals. Unless the details of what happens in the event of a loss was explicitly discussed prior to the items being sent, my assumption would be the loss would have to be split between the purchaser and the seller. Its incorrect IMO to assume its automatically on wholy either party.
Maybe this event can be the catalyst for people to have these conversations as part of a transaction moving forward.
I am inclined to agree. I recently sold a ~$4k set not through the classifieds to a long established member. I asked if they wanted insurance and they declined, There reasoning was they didn't fully expect USPS not to fuck it up, but also not sure that USPS would actually pay out the claim. This brings up an interesting thought: has anyone insured a large value shipment through USPS and had to file a claim? Did they pay out?I think there is more nuance to that in this hobby.

UPS paid half of my claim, but from what I hear, USPS is worthless and you are better off finding third party insurance.Has anyone even heard of usps insurance paying out? I hear it’s a major pain.
I’ve been paid. Not a large sum, but a couple hundred bucks. Wasn’t a hassle at all tbh. I later received the chipsHas anyone even heard of usps insurance paying out? I hear it’s a major pain.
He mailed it via flat rate at the post office.I think UPS has flat rate options, but I tried to look them up the other day and I was confused. I think you print your own label and the box can be anything under certain demensions or something?
The next obvious comment will be “my account was hacked”.Serious!
Mikes always been a nice guy. But I don’t buy an excuse that this was opened up and the post office put the paper in if that’s what he’s going to try to say.
The entire transaction was via cell phone. The next obvious comment will be “my account was hacked”.
I honestly think there is a commune that he/they live in and there are several different people that use this account.
