Beg to differ, TRK tri-moons look so much better than Paulson’s whatever that is. Looks to me like a bloated 3V that needs to go to fat camp.

Dealer trays serve a purpose. That purpose is to have the necessary chips available for 1) color-ups, 2) change, 3) pulling a rake, and 4) no matter what the stakes.
  • 1) There isn't a lot of need for coloring up in a typical cash game. You have to pause for rebuys anyway so pulling out an easy to access rack (or having a chip drawer in the table) is just as good without the real estate needs.
  • 2&3 are connected. If the change isn't being pulled from the table in rake, then the change remains in play. If you are tipping the dealer, the change will still be at the table, and the dealer can color up their tips.
  • 4) You know the stakes at a home game. If your game doesn't break out more than a handful of $20s/$25s, you probably won't need a row built into the table to handle the hundreds.
If you want controversy, suggest that a dealers tray is even necessary for a typical home game.
 
I'm just spitballing here, but it is the controversial opinions thread. I'd say one element to pay attention to in the differentiation between home game and unlicensed casino is the need for and presence of a dealer's tray.

They are most definitely quality chips but they don’t stand out all, this is the World Series!

Where’s the panache? They just blend into the background and don’t have any standout identity. Meh…

Well, you wouldn't want pretty chips to steal any attention away from the real goal of streaming poker: the advertisements :cautious::bigbucks:

Streaming Hold'em poker. The streaming schedule this year is meh at best. And yes, while they did stream the 10k O/8 instead of the Mystery Bounty, they also showed the $1500 6 Max last night instead of the $25k NLH / PLO

Don't ever try to make it make sense with pokergo. The biggest positive I have to say about them is that if Daniel makes a final table, they'll switch their schedule and stream that. But I like the guy - lots of people don't.

Final tables can be interesting but coverage of the early and middle stages of donkaments are what drove the Moneymaker boom. They need more of that instead of the sterile, overproduced final table coverage.

Nah. The only time you get really good coverage is during the main event, and then it’s too much to watch. They’ll give you like 6-8 hours of live, slow Holdem every day of the Main. Ain’t nobody go time for that!
Oh and the players championship - they have good coverage of that too.
