Controversial Chip & Poker Opinions (17 Viewers)

Is that: there is nothing wrong playing with Chips that aren't circles (i wish someone would make, Triangle/Square/Pentagon/Hexagon/Octagon shaped chips

Is that: there is nothing wrong with heavy chips 14-18 Grams

and there is nothing wrong with inventing new poker variants and using your friends as test subjects

We relegate shapes to inlays because you will quickly find custom shaped injection molds or compression molds cost a lot of money, and your return on investment will be negative 6 figures before you make a single chip.

And heavier weight chips are fine. But those that think and opine out loud when using weight as the sole indicator of quality or preference will find themselves quickly escorted to the kids' table, so to speak.

Test your friends however you like. As long as the chips flow and laughter is loud, it's all golden.

Clevelanders living in glass houses should not throw...anything, really.

That’s right. Forgot Canadians can’t take a joke.

I ‘pologize.

Just some advice, though. Any city that has endured anything like the Browns is pretty much immune to insults.

Keep firing. ;)

You've heard about the Vancouver Canucks, right? Not as bad as the Leafs, but c'mon. We can take a joke because we *are* the joke. And not even a punchline.

Controversial opinion... this forum doesn't need a dedicated politics section. Half of the posts in that section are well reasoned, articulate, and impactful more broadly to the community even outside of that section (really no different than sports/etc). The other half of posts are just wrong and dumb and should be banned. Boom, solved.

I think they do it just for the website views and ad money it generates.

If that ever happened, pokerchipper.com's membership would immediately quadruple

I agree that the politics forum is stupid. But it’s not an unfair representation of real life political discourse.
Bottom line, if that forum keeps people from bringing up politics in the rest of our discussions, I say keep it.

It is banned in the rest of the discussion regardless if there’s a section for it.

Even I no longer have politics access. It’s just for 3-4 trolls who only engage on non chip/poker threads, with politics making up a huge % of posts.

I used to agree, but I changed my mind. Arc yellow is the color of a school bus. School busses are yellow.
From BusAndCoachForum.com's "Controversial Bus & Coach Opinions" Thread:

School Bus's are an orange and should no longer be marketed as yellow.

Reminds me of my earls days artistic painting and the Color of fashion at the time was Purple.

So the artist community and buying community would have endless debates, if a color or theme was Purple, Lavender, Violet...

It was really decided by how much was paid for the Art. If the art was inexpensive, the color was Purple, if the art was Expensive it was called Lavender, If the art was Expensive and a Wild Concept it was Violet.

Related but different controversial opinion: the guy who invented the hole card cam, who is in the poker hall of fame iirc, is the most important person in poker's growth.
Yep. Henry Orenstein. Incredable person.

Before he invented hole card cams, he brought Transformers to existence.

Also survived being a Jewish teenager in 1939 Poland. Survived 5 concentration camps and numerous pogroms. His book is a must read for anyone interested in a very powerful story of survival.
