and there is nothing wrong with inventing new poker variants and using your friends as test subjects
We relegate shapes to inlays because you will quickly find custom shaped injection molds or compression molds cost a lot of money, and your return on investment will be negative 6 figures before you make a single chip.
And heavier weight chips are fine. But those that think and opine out loud when using weight as the sole indicator of quality or preference will find themselves quickly escorted to the kids' table, so to speak.
Test your friends however you like. As long as the chips flow and laughter is loud, it's all golden.
