Giveaway Free 2025 PCF Fantasy WSOP - Win RIO WSOP chips (2 Viewers)

Phwoar! Fun dataset!
Must... resist... urge...
To run a matrix analysis to find clades of similar entries that could cheer together as a tribe.

I think Jesse Lonis is great. But I once reg’d an event in Oklahoma, and sat down to him facing a 2x pot shove on a river on a trips board. I dunno what had happened up until that point but I watched that dude in his sunglasses tank for five minutes before calling off with king high. It’s gonna be hard for me to pick him in a fantasy event.

He needs to find his groove for sure. I watched him punt his whole stack in the triton 100k plo nearing the bubble because he was card dead/on tilt. Could have easily secured a FT too.

So here's a stupid question as I try to do some self calculations to get the ball rolling before the leaderboard minimums kick in.

How do you all interrupt this table?

With the limited info:

Details and Limitations
  • 2025 PoY will only include all open bracelet events of the 2025 WSOP at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Horseshoe Las Vegas (May 27 - July 16)
  • The 2025 Player of the Year race will only include all open bracelet events of the 2025 WSOP at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino and Horseshoe Las Vegas (May 27 - July 16) including the online bracelet events
  • 2025 POY rule: Players will require a minimum of 5 results to qualify and be limited to their top 10 points results with a maximum of 1 online bracelet result.
  • Players eliminated in the same round (e.g. fifth through eighth place in a heads-up event, or all players eliminated on Day 2 of a shootout), will all receive the same points. The points awarded for those places will be the average of the points those places would have earned in a standard event.
  • Some events (e.g., The Closer) offer the opportunity to cash more than once. However, a player will only earn POY points once for each event, and the points earned will be based on the position in the final results.
  • Winner prizes include a seat to the 2026 WSOP Main Event, a unique trophy, and a Player of the Year banner at Paris/Horseshoe.
  • The following NLH events will not count toward the Player of the Year standings: Event #2, Event #40, Event #48, Event #64, Event #65, and Event #70.

I assume this means only people who finish in the money would get points, right?

In event #3, there was 693 entries and 104 spots got paid. Thus, I am assuming:

104 spots total
95 spots calculated after top 9

1-9 are obvious
10-28 get 231 points (19 spots, next 20%)
29-56 get 116 points (28 spots, next 29.5% rounded down)
57-104 get 58 points (48 spots, next 50.5% rounded up)

But honestly, I have no clue here. Thanks for the transparency, WSOP.

Sunday Roundup - Week 1

It was a short and mostly uneventful week in terms of the contest. Scoring is... tentative (but consistent) as I have been driven to do the scoring calculations myself for now if not permanently.

WSOP Highlights

-Dan Heimiller wins his third career bracelet in the 1,500 7-card.
-Caleb Furth and Antonio Galiana grab second bracelets in the pair of 5K early events.
-Schulman and Deeb needle the controversial Kabrhel, but Martin has the last laugh with a third place finish in the 5K PLO.
-The 1K Mystery Millions eclipses last year with a whopping 19,654 entries.

Contest Highlights

-Justin Liberto finds the first final table of the contest, finishing 7th in the 5K 8-Handed NLHE event #3.
-4 of the first 5 bracelets go to Americans, suggesting the over on the bonus question is looking good early.
-Seiver and Negreanu goose egg week one.

2025 PCF Fantasy WSOP standings

@ekricket currently sits at the top of the standings through week 1 with @BiGGyT in a close second.

@CacheCreekCollector was the last person to break out of the zero chip mark with Chance Kornuth's point earning quarterfinal loss in the 25K Heads Up Championship and currently is in 59th place.

Other notables include tournament host @Zmasterben in 14th, The Polish WSOP card expert @surfik in 26th, PCF class clown @Josh Kifer in 34th, and a Ben's pick runner @Tonysquander in 49th.

Week 2 Preview

-Patrick Leonard is locked in to get a huge score for his six fantasy owners as he competes in the semifinals of the 25K Heads Up Championship in his quest for bracelet number two.
-Benny Glaser is chip leader with 14 remaining in the 1.5k Dealer's Choice with Justin Liberto, Scott Bohlman, and Dan Zack still alive.
-The 10K Omaha Hi-Lo Championship, 10K NLHE Mystery Bounty, and 10K Dealer's Choice are sure to hand out some huge points for the contest and reshape the standings.
-The 25K NLHE/PLO will be the first high roller to award a bracelet in 2025.

A couple of updates.

1. Prizes have been updated to include @doublebooyah85 generous donation above. Super awesome of you!

2. The WSOP scoring system appears to lack any transparency and is completely convoluted so I am going to keep chugging along with my calculations.

3. For those tracking on the spreadsheet, I added a new column called 'Chip Min Potential'. Chip Count is your points for all players who have cashed and chip min potential is adding in your players who are in the money but not cashed yet. If you don't care about any of this, don't worry, it is meaningless. Both will reconcile in the end. It is for people to see a better snapshot of where they are at the moment if they wanted to. I will try to keep it as up to date as possible but it will likely not always be 100% accurate due to how many different tournaments are constantly running at the same time. I already put way too much effort into updating as much as I do.

I added it today out of curiosity to see how badly @waddadonk was really beating us with Glaser's second deep running still happening. The answer is by a lot.

4. Finally, I would like to confirm that @dpeks13 has in fact not won yet.

BS

Just Glase! Ben, PM me with an address where I can send some prizes. Thanks for running this - lots of work!

Should be a slower day today with the 25K High Roller 6-Hander crowning a champ along with the PLO Double Board Bomb Pot and the 10K 7-card Championship going into the money. The 1.5K Badugi will also give a bracelet today but we are done with that one here with last minute replacement Arthur Morris being knocked out in 10th. The WSOP focus will be the Colossus flight 1D day four that will take up most of the tournament floor real estate.

So let's look at some numbers.

Optimal Lineup: 9,547
@waddadonk: 6,241
Second place: 5,083
Average of everyone not named Waddadonk: 2,875

Waddadonk has more than twice as much as the league average and 2/3 of the optimal score so far including 5 optimal players and 2 that are second in their tier. Their lone weakness is the tier 10 pick of David Peters who is currently sitting on a goose egg... Oh, what's that? Peters is one of 14 remaining in the 25K 6-Handed High Roller and is guaranteed a big score.

The way too early to call it question is can anyone keep up with @waddadonk?

Representing Vatican City was my pro-move to win all the things, but replacing the Pope took time out of the poker prayer circle. Lots of time to make it back up though!

Who could have ever predicted the Vatican City having a poor showing at the World Series of Poker?

I carefully crafted my team to finish in last place and they are still performing as expected! No one dares to challenge me for the bottom of the heap!!!!

Season 2 Nickelodeon GIF

A lot of the people in the bottom pack are prepped to get some big scores with the current High Roller, Colossus, and 7-card championship giving out tons of points.

I'm really starting to believe in the theory that you wanted to finish last.
