Are these hard to find? I had a friend recently tell me he loves the rye. I've never seen any of them on the shelf.
@gopherblue and see Irish opPicked up a bottle of this too. Really enjoyed my first pour of it. Oban 14 is my go-to scotch so seemed nice to try at $150. Probably wouldn't spend any more than that on a second bottle but this will def get enjoyed
It was pleasant. Definitely an Oban. Nothing particularly special though. I’m trying to think of a good way to bump it up against the 14 and 18. I typically like blind tests…but abv difference will be obvious and feel nerfing the bs down to 40 would remove one of its key qualities. So will probably just drink the 3 concurrently. A good exercise for this weekendHow is it? I’m an Oban fan, but almost strictly the 14yo.

I think this will be the last Bookers I buy. It's not that's it bad, but I just don't get the premium. Like, at all. This should be a $60 bottle.
I like the Bookers. However, I don't have it in me to pull it out of the nice tight fitting box and store it as just another bottle on the shelf. Since I have to remove it from the box on the shelf every time I'd like a pour, it tends to have a very long shelf life in my house. I'm just a lazy whiskey drinker I guess.View attachment 1513822

View attachment 1513823As good as this is, I still think the Redbreast CS12 is just a bit better. The fact that the RB is $40 less and easier to find puts it above the Blue for me. I really like what the Madeira finishing adds, but it really needs a few more years of aging to get to the level of the RB CS. Still a quality pour!

I love PJL! It’s one that I’ll always have in the cabinet. I think it’s probably the best value pot still Irish you can buy. I’d love to see the cask strength here as well.Power’s John’s Lane is my favorite Pot Still Whiskey by far. Apparently, at some point, they did a cask strength version of that, but I don’t think it ever made it over here. The Blue Spot is great but for the money, I’m always gonna get the Ywllow Spot (I know it’s not CS but still).q
