I rehabbed a couple of table toppers from a charity casino, and they are passable. But unlike this one, they started with a full sheet of 1/2” plywood. I framed it up and added legs to it, and it still flexes way more than I would like. Unless you’re willing to put at least a full 3/4” plywood base on there, it’s not going to hold up to any leaning. At all.
And I’m happy enough with how my tables turned out, but truth be told, I’d much rather start from scratch and do things the right way the first time. Trying to retro fit everything added all kinds of steps to the process, and the tables still have shortcomings stemming from how they were made in the first place
