I can’t read any more of your lies Brian.

It doesn’t take much to figure out I was the player in the game since I have posted pics from it.

I never said I was leaving after an orbit.
Every week I need to be home by 2am. That means in the door. My wife has to be at work at 5am on Thursday’s. So it is my day to get up with the kids and get them ready for school. The first 2 weeks I played in this game I didn’t get home until 4am ish. I was pretty cranky at 7am when the alarm went off. So she asked me to be home by 2am so I get some sleep.

When I said it was my last hand the girl next to me said I should go all-in. That everyone would fold and I could give her a chance to double her up. I never agreed to do that.

The hand was dealt she is UTG and folds. I said to her something along the lines of “I guess you don’t want a chance at a double up.”

I then said “I am raising anyways”. I thought about it for a few seconds and said $200 and pushed out two stacks of yellow $5’s.

I made the bet so big because I need to get home. Happy wife happy life. The clock was ticking. I figured I would win the $2 in blind money toss the AA in the muck face up and have good laugh about it. I thought there was zero chance anyone would call, why would they?!?

But the new kid that is a fish (not a whale by any means) called with K7cc. Everyone else hemmed and made like they wanted to play too but all folded (like they should have). I shoved blind for the rest of his stack, about $72 and he called.
My aces help up and I won the pot.

I hurried up and racked up and left and was in the garage at exactly 2am.

Edit to add that I never said I didn’t look at my hand. I would not bet $200 blind. To assume I would is even more stupid than I thought the players are.

His main justification to me the day after was how he needed to be hone at 2am

If thats the case why didnt he speak up and say i have aces all you guys fold.
Are you even serious with this?

You encourage your players to disclose their hands when they have to leave?

He lied and said she said she was going to go all in blind. She was tilted. She folded.
This is not in the OP. Nothing close to this.

Regardless, you are permitted to talk at the table. This is not angle shooting.

Hes wrong in colluding with a player who was nit in the hand.
Colluding and angle shooting are different.

To collude, she would have to be in on it.

tldr: villain out played the field. The OP/Host doesn't seem to be on his "A" game. The posts are filled with pejoratives and baseless accusations. Good poker by villain might not be good for the underground game, perhaps that would explain the rants?

The original post and the follow ups do not seem like a recital of the facts. Nor do they seem like a genuine attempt to resolve a problem. In all seriousness I also wonder if the OP is incapacitated in some way. The rant borders on unhinged. I do get that the OP's business interests might be in jeopardy and that might influence the perspectives.

I admit to confusion. OP said in his opening post: "I have been playing poker for twenty-one years. And have never ran a game or hosted. Poker is my pure passion." and then talks about how villain helped him structure his rake. Next sentence is villain "Loaned me some chips to add flair to my game." Just noting that this all sounds like OP is running an underground raked poker game even if he says otherwise.

We don't know the house rules. Maybe this game is one of those "hoodie and ear bud" games where no one is expected to speak kind of like a live version of an on-line poker room. Please spell out the rules, assure us these are clearly posted and explain what villain did to break the rules.

Villain didn't hit and run, he is going home at two o'clock in the morning. Just like he announced.

Collusion is conducted between parties. Is OP saying the lady who folded conspired before hand to benefit villain? Is she anything more than an uninvolved bystander?

Best I can tell, villain lied or was deceptive about his hand. Maybe this is a violation of one hand to a person. Perhaps this merits a warning at a WSOP tournament table. I somehow didn't get the feeling that OP runs his game this way. But if the rules are strict, give villain his warning. If he is a repeat offender, send him home for the night. Worst case, ban him. Seems like an overreaction to typical table talk.

It is true, there is a sucker born every minute. Some random dude says, " I didn't look at my cards, I'm ready to call it a night. All in blind!!!!! Suckers." And one of the other players believe that BS only to find villain had aces. Sounds like a typical night in the games I frequent. How dumb does someone have to be to fall for that schtick? Not against the rules in my book. I my experience, this sort of thing is good for an on-going home game. We would give the sucker shit for years. And poke fun at the villain the next time he does something like this.

OP - - seek perspective after sleeping on this. You are way out of line - perhaps understandable if you were the sucker or if your underground game is risking losing a big contributor. Villain played better poker and got rewarded for it. Not much of a reason to have invested so much into this thread.

DrStrange

PS I see there was a reveal as I wrote this post. Not going to rewrite my thoughts to reflect villain's response.

I've jabbed enough at this guy tonight, but @DrStrange posted this:

I concur, I'm concerned about possible incapacitation, or, at the least the mindset that he's in. It's concerning. Hopefully this can be chalked up to an alcohol or drug induced rant, and, not some deep seeded dark mental place. I mean that in all seriousness. It seems you've know each other/been friendly at some point, let cooler heads prevail.

Hello all. My name is Brian or Vegas....
I have been playing poker for twenty one years. And have never ran a game or hosted. Poker is my pure passion.

I will share my evolution, and pics. In a different thread.

I had a situation occur.

Before let me give you a brief context before i go into the event.

Villain: semi pro. Very much so for the "rules of the game" this guy has helped me structure fair rake. Loaned me some chips to add flair to my game. So i had a biased view at first. After listening to the guys, doong some investigating work. I choose to hear what the community has to say.

This topic I posted. My poker coach is a content creator over at Crushlivepoker. And i will be addressing this issue and what its like to run a home game next Wednesday. So you guys can tune in. There were some mixed comments.

Here we go.

Villain has previously announced he was leaving after this orbit. He has to be home to his wife at 2am. This is natural. He wins 90 percent of the time. So hitting and running isn't really a concern.

However i did have a whale on the table. A first timer. That loved the action and the stage of poker.

Villain Utg plus 1....

Utg folds.... And i hear him say to the folded player. " I thought i was going to double you up, and proceeded to open shove for 200bbs." And mentioned something about not looking. I didnt hear exactly what was said. From the whole table. They didnt think he looked. I intervened because i felt the happiness iff the table dynamic shift. And it got serious. So i asked did you look? The villain didn't answer and it was certainly his right.

Most of the drama was unwarranted. He used a person that was not involved in a hand. To influence action. Regardless. The Utg was folded and done with her hand. So he broke a rule.... In my opinion....

After a few minutes of deliberation. The whale calls.... The villain scoops. He shows Aces.....

The table was mad at him. They hold him in high regard. They wanted to skin him. I felt terrible. Its his certain right to leave. The guys in my game. Said he hit and run. That was a predatory cheap shot at an angle. Tons of things.

I got the guys story. No matter what he tells me. He involved a player that was not in the hand. I wish i better addressed the situation there. For me im mad at myself. For allowing the dynamic to shift without appropriately addressing it.

Now the guy. Will not come back because hes mad at me for not letting this go. I easily choose the side of what i believe the be. The truth. So i seek it. And will hold him accountable jist as he dies every player on the table. My guys want him back, i dont know why. And now he definitely hit and run because he can't apologize and make things right.

So my question to the group.

Was this poor etiquette?
Classless?
A simple mistake from a twenty year semi pro.
Or a blatant angle shoot?

Thank you guys.....
Incredible.

Adam LoL...

If this happened how you exactly said please explain to me why. Everyone is mad? That sounds so subtle.

I won't address the Jim L situation in this thread. Ill save that for tomorrow so i can edit his name out. And then you can explain to your beloved community why you wanted to sneakily shut down a local game for your benefit.

Your great at manipulating the truth to benefit you. If that's all that happened Adam the whole table must be out of line.

I could care less about this situation.
I do more or less concern your integrity.
Im collateral damage...

This pic was the mouth straight from the dealer. As i asked him his interpretation of events and why everyone was mad

Lol this is amazing. I've had this exact scenario occur to me a couple times.

Straddler says we should do a triple straddle for the last hand. I say fuck it and put my hard earned $20 in. I tell the original straddler that I'll double him up if I have pot odds.

I open the last hand and look at.... KK. The original straddler calls. I laugh, shove, tell him to "take all of it". He snap calls and shows... J9.

So are you telling me that he should be mad because I lied to him and told him I would double him up? Lol

I also ended up "hitting and running".. Cause it was the last hand.

Yes, I talked to you about trying to get a highly raked illegal game shut down. He was/is taking advantage of the players in the game for about $2k/night in rake. Those players deserve a better game. Is it yours, I don’t think so now. I was hoping you could be.

I have never done anything about that game because I would not want to risk any fallout effecting my family. But yes, I would love to see that game end. He is a predator.

This hand context i could care less about.
In all honesty.
It was an irregularity.
I have no say in this matter. Anything told about this hand is from the table.

Maybe i just dont like him. And im glad hell never be back. And so for that. I will give you the gift.

The man likes to control rake. Not from my gane from other people's games. So much so he asked me if i would be interested in making a phone call to the police and breaking up a local Omaha game.

I asked him his reasoning. Maybe since i do a good job at lying you can ask him yourselfs.

In my texts as evidence you can clearly see how many times he would mention this guys game, the rake, and how he just didn't loke this guy.

Im sure Adam will vehemently deny this. Or twist it on to me. That i wanted this for a new game.

I don't know any of these players that played in the game..

Even if this is how it went down, I still don’t think he did anything wrong. That’s poker. No one forced Kc7c to put his money in the pot.

See above. I said it before you.

I don’t want to control the rake. I have suggested what is fair to players while still being worth it to the game runner.

When you and I first talked you were raking $8/hand in a 25/50c game. I told you that it is not sustainable. We worked on coming up with a rake that was.

I wish you luck and continued success in running and growing your game @bvegas80 but obviously it will be without me being involved anymore.
Thank you. And im sure its my loss....
It might be.

But you can always set up a heads up. I would love to play...

Id love to record this. If we could negiotate the hand sample size to make this fair.

Most of those players dont like you. If they did you would have them Adam.

I have talked to him. He told me something about you....

In the real world. When you stick your nose into someones business you deserve to get fucked up.....

I hope he picks me to slap you.

$8?!!! Might as well play at brick and mortar.

Also, this didn’t age well. Hahahahaha.

Thanks for stopping in . And helping me out . Words cannot express the gratitude, and the luxury of being able to meet you . Your a great ambassador for our city , state, and this community . This man is all class . @Rhodeman77

I don't really think he did anything wrong either TBH.....

The exposure was for the ending.
But he was prepared for this. Because i texted him. He chose this path

@bvegas80 it sounds like, to me, that you have a bunch of brand new players that have no clue how the poker world works. Someone just got a very valuable ($272) lesson. They got outplayed by a better player. Anyone that puts nearly $300 in a pot without looking at their cards deserves to lose their money. A fool and their money are lucky to get together in the first place. If Alivia was talking about what she was willing to do with another player before the hand, well spoiler alert, she's guilty of collusion. She didn't need to be coaxed into it, sounds like she willingly participated. Did you ban her? If not, why are you coming after Adam? It takes two to collude. What are you so upset about? Are you trying to score with Alicia? What is the real problem here? Does the man have a standing home by 2am rule? Did he announce he was leaving at the time? Did he force anyone to put money in the pot? Whatc is the real crux of your anger?
