I mean, called and left me a voicemail while I was having dinner. He was thrilled to bits he was selling it to me, almost like I was doing him a favor! Lol.

"Hi Goph, this is Cody from [The Honey Hole]. Um, my coworker today said, um, that she sold you a bottle of Weller Full Proof…I was just wondering if you wanted a bottle of Weller 12 that we have. Um you can give the store a call tomorrow…I'll put your name on it if you want. Um just wanted to let you know. Um so yeah, you have a great evening and take care. Bye."

a very good friend's brother will reach out if he has anything he knows I'd be interested in mainly because he knows I'll drink it. He hates the 'bourbon hunters'.
 
I am afraid I am gettining to the point where if it isn't a store pick or a hard to get whiskey I havent had before i pass it by.
I'm a lot in the same boat.

The industry is definitely catering to people in that place. Most customers are happy buying the same jim beam white label they always have and would never buy something limited edition, but some customers wouldn't buy a white label bottle but can't walk past a limited edition single barrel/store pick/one-off cause 'you could never get it again!' Gotta get that market segment. They have also realized that people will pay a lot more for it

I'm a sucker for it, but I still know it happens.
