Long time ago sorryThose Modiano boxes are sweet! Where did you find those?
Didn't realize you were in NJ too. These definitely came from the same batch/warehouse.Yes they were purchased off Amazon. You are right they are probably from the same batch.
I just reread this post. I wouldn’t buy any used or “like new” Kems…especially to try as your first. If Kems are being sold as anything but new from a retailer, they are very likely messed up in some way. Understand also that Kems are used by the overwhelming majority of casinos in the US, so when you see them used, they are most likely heavily used casino cards and will arrive bowed.Thank you! So it's purely the directionality of the card, and is the reason that upside down is better because the bowing is always in one direction? Or that's just what seemed to have worked the best for most people?
I got some KEMs from Amazon Warehouse in "Like New" condition where just the outside packaging should have been damaged, and I think someone bought some new KEMs and then swapped their old ones in, because they had the full-on crackle across the face and appeared to be very used. I (re)returned them of course. Kind of soured me on them, but I feel like I want to give them another shot since so many people rave about them, so that's why I'm trying to find out the best way to potentially store them.
So just to be totally clear, is the "upside down" just the directionality of the deck or actually storing it in the case upside down?
And this would only affect acetate cards, correct? So if a Da Vinci deck (for example) says 100% plastic, it shouldn't be affected?
Just had a set come in and they are bowed.I bought a set up of DaVinci too just recently that were bowed with the cellophane wrapping still on them too. Did you get them off of Amazon per chance? I'd wager they were from the same batch in the same warehouse. I have three other DaVinci set ups purchased before that with no issues.
It's definitely an issue with the production run or that they have been sitting in a hot warehouse for a long time. I bought another set up just a week ago thinking that the warm weather earlier this year causing bowing, but same thing. Playable, but definitely bowed.Just had a set come in and they are bowed.
I'm going to try putting chips in the box and see if it helps. It's definitely an issue with the production run or that they have been sitting in a hot warehouse for a long time. Me too. I have a dealer button and cut card in mine and I'll see in a few weeks if they're better.I'm going to try putting chips in the box and see if it helps.
willing to trade the star wars death star DB?There are also some Modiano decks under the lower racks in my HSI red box but I am leaving them there....this pic is of my card stash. There is a mix of 400 backup/spares HSI's, some Nice decks, good quality decks and free with case quality decks plus odds n ends. I would really like to make a chip case out of it but the size requires adjustments for my storage requirements. I will have better condition boxes available eventually after I dump the junk inside.
I like the Modiano cards best of the main options, the older Acetate deck cases with the two sided flip open are also great stock cases unmatched today.
Would have to be a heck of a trade...I have 2 death stars and 1 falcon plus 32 bobba fett buttons for a theme max 3 table May the 4th bounty/rebuy tourney. These is a small accessory theme that I am looking to progressively add-on to.willing to trade the star wars death star DB?
Those look like copag boxes, huh?
They're ok. Made in Taiwan by Kuo printing.

Dunno if they ship to Australia, but there's an eBay seller that has Marion Pro for as cheap as $6/deck, $24 for 2 red/2 blue decks, in Poker/Jumbo: https://www.ebay.com/itm/274086776359. Doesn't come up in searches because the listing doesn't use the company name. Not as fancy looking as the $20/setup listings that come with the two-deck cases. Thanks mate

We're about a month in and they're still warped but slightly less so.Me too. I have a dealer button and cut card in mine and I'll see in a few weeks if they're better.
Yeah i quit kickstarte a while ago. There is just absolutely no end to it, new decks/campaigns by the day...Welcome Elias, looks like we have some crossover in our collections.
I too have (had?) a problem. That time when I wanted to try my hand a cardistry, got too many decks, then came to the realization I have fat fingers and learning how to play poker better would be a more +EV decision. Debatable because my game still has a long way to go, but you gotta track winnings over years not months right? Tried implementing them in small stakes home games, but my friends just yelled at me because they "couldn't read the cards" . I still appreciate these decks and would be lying if I said I no longer peruse Kickstarter for card campaigns. While I have not pulled the trigger on any recently, I have added plastic decks to the arsenal for poker. Can't say all of these are unopened but they're certainly not all opened.

btw @Sambukan, the tuck box on the black and green Zone deck annoys me to no end! Novel concept, horrible execution.
