I don’t have a card problem. Do you have a card problem? (7 Viewers)

Good God.... Cara Gails! That was a neat place

Cara Gails, Trident and Samuel Thomas were all fantastic playing card vendors back in the day. What I posted above are just the decks I still have in play, there's another 20 or 30 retired setups I purchased from them over the years.

Ii need to update the picture of my setups, but I think I'm somewhere between @Geremie and @JMC9389 .

I'm trying to slow down (almost pulled the trigger on the Trefls), but it's difficult. I keep thinking I'll sell some setups, but I haven't yet.

Good God man, why would you ever want to leave? If it's not worth doing in a spreadsheet, it's not worth doing at all!!!!
This is the exact spreadsheet I have….this is getting scary :wow:

And we both own PNY and Rounders……are we related…distant cousins?!? :p

I have to ask, how many have you tried? Because I've never understood why people like copags. In a vacuum, I suppose they're fine. But compared to just about every other premium brand, copags seem to lose, in my opinion.
Nice and cheap. I like the older WSOP cards they have. 2017 WSOP cards have a slight linen finish. They are not like the rest, that is a fact.

Also if you purchase 2 double-decks from their website right now, you'll get two free decks of black 2017 WSOP cards.

Hauled mine out today to see what I have. It's definitely growing.

Cards_All.jpg

Cards on the right are likely staying. Cards on the left are ones that I am thinking about possibly selling to other hosts in our league, although the bridge jumbos may stay. I need to upgrade my storage, as the box is pretty full.

And I have more inbound. Sigh. I host maybe 5-6 times per year?

I would not get rid of those Alphas. I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing more of those. They feel great.

You know you have a card problem when you make decks for guests at your wedding.

My wife and I said f%&k flowers and stupid traditional center pieces. She is a Librarian and I was in the poker room. So our center pieces were cards/ chips/ and awesome books.

One 2pip set, and one 4pip set. I used the 2pip set in a game, and they were well-liked by our players. The 4pip cards have what appear to be ink transfer on the faces of some of the low spades, so I will not put them into play.

I'd take the Dal Negro's off of you if you don't have use for them! What is below them?

I'll let you know if I decide to sell the Dal Negro's on the board. Right now, I'm giving first chance for anything I sell to the players in our league.

An older version of the Ovalyon cards (black/red) are below them.

Gotcha. Are they the same stock as the newer ones?

You missing KEMS WPT in your collection, love this cards. If only they would make them with jumbo indexes...

Our crew is pretty much poker/jumbo, and I'm not really a KEM fan. Still checking out other brands to see if there's something better, which is what got the ball rolling. So far, Fournier are easily my favourites, followed closely by Desjgn.

I have a thing for cardboard but I swear it's not a problem... yet. I just like opening fresh decks for my occasional games.

How do you like those cherry casino cards?

They're quite nice. Nice metallic colours, standard faces and pips, work great for a game. I like the darker metallic red they use for the red pips. They're on thin-crushed stock so while it feels pretty good I think they may not last as long and as nicely as some other decks but then again I only run new packs in games so I figure they should be fine for a poker night. Haven't run them yet though.

The cards I think handle best are the Aristocrat casino stock decks, those feel better out of the box and are more durable. Nowhere near plastic decks of course but very solid decks. It's just that the designs aren't nearly as nice as those other non-casino decks. Win some, lose some I guess. Now the Jerry's in vintage feel are just the ticket for me (outside of the red vintage feel that bleeds red ink all over your hands).

It's a bit expensive to run a new deck every game and use those expensive $10-per or more decks but I just have a thing for cards and the expense doesn't bother me (especially since my games don't run very often).

Just placed an order for a couple cherry casino decks. Thanks for the other recommendations, I’ll check them out as well. I’m also not playing too frequently so the art outweighs the fact that they might not be the toughest cards on the market. I’ll play some cribbage with the family to test them out and am sure they will enjoy a fresh deck.

The fact that we even having that exchange proves that we are slightly mental.

I know I don’t have a card problem, because all my decks fit in one shoebox.
Well, except for those two decks on the side. And the four decks I have coming in the mail. And four decks I have sitting in carousels. Oh, and the two decks in my car.
(I know so many of you have more cards, but I just made an attempt to organize them, so the picture seemed mandatory.)

I have about twice that many. I don't consider that a problem. I host slightly more than once a month and I pretty much use the same cards every time. Hmmmmmmmm, maybe I do have a problem.

I got a setup of DaVinci’s that were bowed right out of the box. And my Modiano’s are very slippery. I do like Desjgn though.

I bought a set up of DaVinci too just recently that were bowed with the cellophane wrapping still on them too. Did you get them off of Amazon per chance? I'd wager they were from the same batch in the same warehouse. I have three other DaVinci set ups purchased before that with no issues.
