You say that like it was some sort of an injustice. I brought a real casino $1 and a BW $1 to a home game and people couldn’t tell the difference. If the untrained eye can’t tell the difference, maybe it’s something that shouldn’t be done.

I am not implying that it's an injustice brought upon PCF without reason, it just sucks that because of the actions of a few, the majority must suffer. I would own a very large set of the BW chips when the inevitable 3rd run happened, and am sad to have been taking a chipping break during its initial production. Now we can't even mention the name. And for that reason, it's a loss to the community at large.

Part of the fun (for some strange reason) is the ability to reproduce, with a high level of replication, casino sets that are unobtainable. Look at the myriad of WSOP clones that have been had out in multiple chip types over the years - for some reason we just want to be able to hold it in our hands. Can it be done is often the question in those cases rather than should it be done, and we like to try the best we can because we're sick people.

I would much rather support ABC/BR Pro than random Alibaba vendors because they are forum vendors and therefore supporters. It's not always about price.

For most of us price is the main factor. 95% of dont have 1000+ for a set.. Specially considering we can get wow factor for under .40 a chip

And I totally get that. But you don't need $1000 for a set. Most people don't know a good and efficient chip breakdown unless they ask or get some experience of their own.

This is why in my tournaments and cash games, to keep costs down and simplify things, everyone gets ONE chip. Once it’s gone, you’re out. That way you only need like 10 chips.

The price factor is always gonna win here. Is ABC's product better... Yes, but not twice the price better. If money wasnt the main factor card mold chips wouldnt exist.

What makes BR Pro ceramics so much better for you? I’ve asked a few people and most thought the two were practically the same, except one can do edge alignment.

I have 2900 cards mold chips ordered from Tina.

Having said that, I also just ordered 1000 Chipcos from ABC to add onto a set.

Both are excellent value for what you get. Chipcos are definitely worth 3x the price of Chinese ceramics. Chinese ceramics are definitely worth 34¢.

I used ABC for my custom set for a few reasons. The price, while definitely more than the cards mold was still very affordable with the BF sale and volume discount.

But one of the most important reasons is that I know my design isn’t going to be sold/used on other sets. I don’t trust any of the Chinese companies that will copy any casino design to make a sale not to offer my design up to someone else.

So you are also paying in effort in addition to time. But for edge aligned chips you are looking at about $0.32/ea for Tina and $1.04 ea for ABC on an 800 chip set. So more than 3x the price.

I haven't received the samples to feel yet for the Cards Mold chips, but I have a set of Tiki Kings from BRPro/ABC and of all the ceramics I've felt and played with... the Tiki Kings feel the best (it's not even a competition). The feel is luxurious, smooth (but not slippery), shuffles from day 1 like a dream and the quality of each chip is fantastic. Depending on the crowd playing with the chips and whether or not the appreciate the higher quality chips... but no regrets paying more for the quality.

Correct on all account. Quality matters. ABC's qua is at least 13 times that of the cards mold chips. They outweighs the 3xs price

I 1000% agree. It surprises me how excited people are about getting things from alibaba. I don’t care if it’s free, it’s still alibaba, maybe protecting intellectual property rights is a good thing. This site seems like it’s about the love and experience of the chips, than someone gets excited about alibaba chips from some group buy. And when I read the tread their are people still waiting on their chips from that person from last year. Isn’t that a red flag or that goes out the window too because it’s cheap Chinese chips at a cheap price.

I’m just curious about this because I feel like if we are making 30K orders, I think we should at least reach out to ABC and show them what we have on the table. I agree that price matching may be reaching, but a simple, “hey, here’s what I have on the table, and being that you’re a vendor, we just wanted to reach out to you and see what you can offer us.” That’s by no means obligatory, but I think the offer to do business can go a long way.

For clarity, I’m not saying that choosing the China Cards mold is by any means wrong, I’m just saying that it wouldn’t hurt to show our vendors some love too if we could. Obviously, if they would come back with a number of like .60/.70 per chip, you’re not going to convince the people in the GB to switch, but depending on what they offer, some might be willing to eat the cost to support a PCF vendor.

I think you should go ahead and reach out. Considering the time savings and quality difference, I think a lot of people would pay the extra $0.20 or $0.30 more per chip. But if they can’t budge much on price, $0.75 more per chip is a tough sell.
