Was stuck $700, managed to get unstuck

I fold :kh::th::8d::7d: UTG and it gets raised

Multiway flop is :ah::9h::6d:

Checked around. Turn :8c: and big stack pots it for $175 and I'm kicking myself for not playing bad

If you had called a $10 raise with this hand the Earth would stop spinning on its axis and the Sun would stop producing light and heat.

Anthony, you have helped me a lot as I try to learn to play this game better. This one has me stumped. That seems like a strong hand and I think I would have a lot of trouble folding it pre flop. And I'm not just saying that because of the actual flop. Double suited. 2nd high and 2 broadway cards on the hearts and the diamonds are connected and nearly connected to the Th. What is not to like about this hand?

2nd nuts is generally a money burner in this game

This hand is ok if you can close the action with position and see a flop cheap (and are comfortable navigating post-flop)

But from EP you can get yourself in trouble. Barring the ridiculous runout I would have gotten, this hand generally isn't going to make the nuts, it's going to make 2nd best or worse

There are significant gaps between the cards, so while they have some connectivity, a lot of times if you do hit you won't make the nut straight, or may share it with your opponent who has redraws you don't

Likewise, the 8 high flush draw is a slim backup and not something to go to war with

Hands like this look deceptively good. If you were short-stacked and could get it all-in pre against one opponent with some dead money, you should have decent equity most times

But multiway with deep stacks it's just not going to flop as perfect enough times to make much off the hand

Thanks man. I really appreciate your insights. I'm not playing the stakes you do, and not usually with full tables either, so if I ever do, I just need to understand that I have to adjust. In my nickel / dime games with only 4-5 at the table, I'd likely play this pretty hard. But now I understand better why you might not.

The gaps are at the top. J-T-8-6 is soooooooo much better than J-9-7-6. Heads up, one is like a 20% favorite over the other, which is a lot in Omaha. Gaps at the top give you a lot of non-nut and second-best hands, which burn money.

Glitter Trap Hand. Like Anthony said, a lot of the times you are going to love this hand until the showdown shows you got beat by the A high flush or a Jack high straight or something like that. It’s a great second or third place hand, but that don’t pay much

And as @Anthony Martino it's certainly a playable hand in spots. But I would say it's the sort of hand you want to play for a limp in mid-to-late position with only passive players yet to act. It's just not a good one to take against aggression.

Right. There's only certain specific flops (like this and flopped quads) that you feel really good about. Everything else you're likely drawing dead/drawing to a chop.

Now remember we discussed this. I am not building a stage again. We can sell beers outside but no more shows

If you guys will cover my lost income from getting banned from the property let's talk turkey!

Lol, no. Camera sees everything.
Thinking of the headline.
Player and their chip stack vanishes during break. Player disqualified but did they profit?
I don't know ..... Has the FBI'S 10 Most Wanted List ever had a former midget stripper on it before?
