All of it in a Swiss bank, in CHFrancs. Nothing else.
1. I was reading a story about how TikTok has become this insanely popular place for people to get stock and investment tips, and that there are now apparently millions of 1 minute tutorial videos on how to make bank. Got me thinking about the power (or danger) of the collective, and I was genuinely interested in a thought experiment of “what would you do with a million dollars.”
I think it was @Payback who made a super important point about a person’s relatively liquidity vis a vis the money, and that it would color things.
2. Personally, I have always found large investments to be best based on people, not currency, product, trend or stock. Smart people drive smart decisions, which in turn drive smart investments that turn exponential. I would probably find 10 brilliant people with bold ideas and invest $100k in ea
^^ YesterdayI put 20% into electric cars about April 2020 and that included zero TSLA. I've been very happy with the results.

New York state? I'll take a hard pass on that one. I've been surrounded by black midwestern dirt most of my life. I'd like to own some more of it, and when my time is done, dig a hole in it and throw me in.Can I interest you in 60 acres in western NY?![]()
either humanity ends in the next 100 years or someone alive today will, in some way, live for the next 1000 years. How that changes humanity will be unlike anything since man learned to create fire. I have no idea how you invest in that.Immortality research.
Land. Farmland for cash rent if I had no plans to live on it.
100 years is pretty short, but with the planet supporting at least twice as many people as seems prudent, it could happen.either humanity ends in the next 100 years or someone alive today will, in some way, live for the next 1000 years....
@wuffle @RudysNYC, I generally lump ETH outside of alt coins. Shitcoins isn't exactly what I was thinking, but really there's lots of speculation involving anything from XRP on down to ... doge. There's inherent risk in all of 'em, including bitcoin. However, the research is available on the internet to evaluate at the minimum the white papers. I consider that legwork easy in relation to running an actual business or trying to raise money to fund one. What’s your definition of alt coins? Is ETH an altcoin?
If it’s uniswap shitcoins, it’s hard to buy anything in size without moving the market
XRP can get bent, I'm in NY and it's super difficult to get into most common altcoins (shit, bitcoin even) without KYC.@wuffle @RudysNYC, I generally lump ETH outside of alt coins. I have a hunch Bezos already is eyeing that up. Perfect solution for him to get distribution for penny’s on the dollar.Destroying the USPS and starting a new mail delivery service
A I (and I’m not talking Alan Iverson). We don’t have much time left before the robots take over the world.
Amazon just bought something like 11 767s that will be repurposed to cargo....I have a hunch Bezos already is eyeing that up. Perfect solution for him to get distribution for penny’s on the dollar.
I work in AI. A couple of my buddies recently asked me which AI companies to invest in. I told them to invest in something else. The up front costs involved in applying AI to even just one very specific problem are extraordinary. It's a powerful tool, but the infrastructure needed to support it is incredible. The cost to benefits ratio leaves much to be desired. That's not to say that important breakthroughs won't be made, but there's a reason Uber recently completely abandoned their self driving cars project that they spent hundreds of millions of dollars on. Most of these AI projects are going to go belly up. The few that succeed will be extremely well funded already like Google, or the needle in the haystack.A I (and I’m not talking Alan Iverson). Real answer, I'm consulting a financial advisor.
Other answer...I'd open a Texas Roadhouse and/or Chick-Fil-A. Those places are always packed around here...yes, even during pandemic.
I looked into buying one once, I think you have to be personally involved in running the businessI assume the Chick-fil-A contracts include a mandatory 10% tithe though?
Nothing wrong with Binance per se, I’m just in NY and Binance doesn’t serve NY. Same with FTX. Could VPN it, but would be kind of a PITAWhat’s wrong with binance? Just curious
Buying a franchise is a great way to buy a job. One of my colleagues’ parents own a couple near us and he says they work insane hours. Add a bar and it probably just means more hours of work. Restaurant industry is brutal.Real answer, I'm consulting a financial advisor.
