Ah yes, the ol' $13k 'metal powers' set. Classic eBay, lol.
Beginning to feel like so much of the eBay market is about leaving overpriced items up there until somebody gets drunk and clicks buy.
here’s a good example - it isn’t egregious, just typical. These are great old diamond mold Paulsons in decent condition with some kind of monogram hit stamp. Around here, these chips might go for 50 cents apiece 1 I saw better versions of these sell here just last night for a lot less than that. But on eBay they’re listed for about a buck apiece. It’s kind of annoying, but that’s eBay:

Wow, you’re right. I saw them last night and I guess I didn’t look closely enough. Anyway, that would explain why they didn’t show up when I searched for “Paulson diamond” today. Anyway, the point is the same. Decent chips, just not $300 decent. These aren't Paulson diamond mold, they are old ASM DISQ mold chips. They don't seem to be in the greatest condition, so I'd put their fair market value at about $90-100, without the rack. They might be able to be turned into something quite nice after milling, though.
Ok to be fair, it's true they are out of production which makes them extremely rare. But still, i don't think it justifies the prices i'm seeing listed around on eBay and my own country's version of craigslist. I'm seeing between $5-7 USD per chip for a full set. That's ridiculous.
FYP. Markets have never been (and couldn't ever be) fair, till the start of Time.fairmarket value is what im told

Of course Paulson are pricey but what else is there............
You cannot disagree with those fine wordsI would argue that in an open market, any item is neither overpriced or underpriced...its exactly where it is because buyers are setting that value. You COULD argue that Paulsons are not worth the price, and that's fine as an opinion...but as long as theres someone willing to buy it, THAT's the current price.
