Well, apparently PayPal doesn’t like us chippers (or just me). Recently my account was restricted and they requested info on 5 of my chipping transactions. I explained that I collected rare casino chips from defunct or rebranded casinos as a hobby. Today, I received a notice that my account has been terminated as the identified transactions contained “risk” for PayPal. WTF.

Had the same thing happen to me. Called PayPal directly and spoke with a guy who was a rare baseball card collector that said the restrictions were even placed on him. Told me to submit the info they requested (basically an explanation of the transactions, along with tracking # for each) and received a prompt that a resolution would be made within 14 days. 8 hours later, account was completely restored. Weird yours was just terminated.

I typically just put my username and ID the type of chip. Never used “PCF”.
Me too, although, I use weird acronyms and nicknames for chips, that only a chipper would understand. I'm always paranoid of being victim to this BS.

Why put anything chip related at all? Just your username should do

I don't put anything, but my volume is low enough (practically non-existent) to keep track of in my head.

These platforms are so arbitrary it’s crazy. They hurt themselves because folks won’t want to keep funds on the platform, and enough of these stories get out that it will just drive everyone into stuff like crypto without centralized, arbitrary control. The fact that I co stay my have to think about what I will use if I get deplatformed by PayPal is aggravating.

Good luck getting your account restored.

It’s done. They said have a nice day. I don’t understand why this happened. The flagged transactions were relatively small. I can’t use PayPal to buy gear labels??? What a joke.

I got a similar inquiry from paypal, a while back - they froze my account and I think they asked for details for my last ten transactions, including shipping tracking numbers.
At first I was freaked because I was playing a lot of pcf pokerstars games, where we pay via paypal. But it turned out the inquiry happened in a week where I'd had a bunch of chipping transactions. So I was able to give them the info they were looking for, for most of the transactions, and they released my account, back to normal.

How did u explain the transactions? Apparently they did not like my explanation.

Exactly what they were - buying or selling collectible poker chips, along with the applicable tracking number. There were one or two pokerstars transactions mixed in, and I think I just said - I owed this friend $15, or whatever.

Also strange - as I remember it, I didn't even finish. They gave me a list of recent transactions - like I said, I think it was ten - and I was supposed to enter the info into the form, for each transaction. I think I only got through like the first 7 transactions or something - I know I didn't finish all of them. I got tired and went to sleep. And the next time I checked (probably the next day?) my account access was restored without comment or explanation.

So, after receiving the termination notice, I just received a notice that my PayPal has been RESTORED!!!!! Hahaha. Looks like a false alarm and that the fish is back in business!!
When you got the first notice, was it via an email out of Nigeria that said to click on the link below, provide you birthday and mother's maiden name, and credit card number. :ROFLMAO:

JK...glad everything got resolved!!

Were they all friends and family transactions? If so, did you tell them you were buying collectible chips?
