WTF - PayPal doesn’t like chippers? (1 Viewer)

I just received a notice that my PayPal has been RESTORED!!!!!
But for how long?

Jokes aside, part of why I like crypto is the decentralized nature. No one can freeze your accounts or prevent you from sending or receiving currency. I am tired of beholding to third parties and having to play by whatever rules they invent. <insert waving American flag and apple pie GIF>

So, after receiving the termination notice, I just received a notice that my PayPal has been RESTORED!!!!! Hahaha. Looks like a false alarm and that the fish is back in business!!
I sent paypal a reference letter for you. I told them all your porn gambling tiffani69 marijuana onlyfans cocaine pornhub stripper transactions were on your venmo account. And they said "Ok we're cool with that".

Maybe they were assuming you were abusing the friends and family portion
Would they care, though? If you use FF they don't collect the 3% fee, but they also aren't on the hook for a refund if there's a problem with the transaction. So it's really up to the buyer to decide if they want that peace of mind or not.

It’s done. They said have a nice day. I don’t understand why this happened. The flagged transactions were relatively small. I can’t use PayPal to buy gear labels??? What a joke.
I hope they ban a sufficient number of people to put themselves out of business. Paypal sucks and I prefer Zelle, anyway.

So I have always used my wife’s PayPal account here. I never opened one. Been doing it for 10 years or so with no issues. Three days ago I decided to open one with my email and a different bank account. Used it about 4 times. All friends and family. I received a. Email about an hour ago, “You can no longer do business with PayPal, after a review we have decided to permanently limit your account as we found potential risk with it. If you have funds in your PayPal balance we will hold them for 180 days”

That’s it. I logged in and sure enough not able to move my funds. Luckily only D
$250 in there.

What a pain! No explanation.

Sounds like your wife started flagging some “suspicious activity” before PayPal did  :LOL:  I blame it on those mint IG $5s. You need to dump them stat. I can help.

Well I called Paypal and they told me they would look into the matter. I received and email saying my account was restored. I have done hundreds of FF transactions on my wife's account. Only about 6 transactions on this new account. Maybe they are cracking down??

I think we are about to see a 3.5% rise in chip prices. Seems small though.

I think I will offer Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay for one price and Paypal FF for 3.5% more
I’ve had cashApp for a while but never used it
It came in handy
I’ll leave it there to pile up chip funds

Time to start using Revolut! Can recommend so much. Been using it for a couple of years. Done some PCF buys and sales there as well. Also very useful for international payments. None (or low after a monthly threshold) exchange fees, and interbank rate!

Also able to buy some stocks and crypto there right in the app, if that suits your fancy.

Edit to ad: if anyone wanna try it you can use my referral code if you want a free $40. Send me a PM if so.

It’s not just 3% though. Goods and services, anything over $600 total for all sales, you’re going to be getting a 1099K and maybe a visit from the taxman.

Had the same thing happen to me. Called PayPal directly and spoke with a guy who was a rare baseball card collector that said the restrictions were even placed on him. Told me to submit the info they requested (basically an explanation of the transactions, along with tracking # for each) and received a prompt that a resolution would be made within 14 days. 8 hours later, account was completely restored. Weird yours was just terminated.

You were able to get someone on the phone? This is a once in a lifetime miracle ;^)
